I'm starting to get a thing for these old Ibanez basses, after picking up a fretless Musician recently.
and having had a Blazer Roadster back in the day.
These ones seem to be either loved or hated :)

I got it for a bit of homeplay or maybe I'll take it as a stand-by, or to the seedier places we play.
This a 1995 model with the FC starting serial, partly made in Japan and assembled in Korea from what I can find out, maybe some experts out there?
It's not at all heavy which is contrary to a lot of the reviews I saw about these. Nice surprise as I bought it un-seen.
For some reason these seem to be associated with starter basses, there is still some decent quality in construction and playability with these. Me likey :)

I wasn't looking to replace a Ray as I have had a few of those in the past and didn't really get on.

And all I need now is to get a black-pickguard frome somewhere?

I love Atk basses (the single pick up models anyway).

The only reason I have never owned one is the bridge turning into a pickup surround.

I just can't get over the look of it.
Shame as they sound killer

I have a soft spot for these. The design and build is top-notch but for one thing; a distinct lack of rosewood board availability. There never seemed to be any in black with a dark board.

I beg to differ. Meet the Indonesian-made ATK310:

If anyone is interested how it sounds in a mix, here it is from live practice last night, not the greatest playing but maybe you'll get the idea.

Cut's though well, nice one. I gig with an ATK805. I've tried a lot of basses over the last 4 years and It's the rest of the bands favourite along with a Bass Collection :)

Nice bass, did it come without the pick guard or did you remove it?
I have an amberburst which my son likes so much he has more or less nicked it... Mine is on the heavy side!

Thanks, they are nice, had a chance to gig mine a couple of times now.
The previous owner had put a wooden pick guard on it when he sent it to me, I didn't like it so took it off. He has since found and sent me the original black one which I have now put on. I'm blown away by how good these are for not much money!

Here's a very entertaining YouTube track that features an ATK quite strongly (no idea about the model):

Extraordinary musicianship throughout that band.

Looks like an F-Bass VF4 to me.

I had a 200, the recent model, that i loved the sound of. Sold it on only to fund the 800 I have now. Lovely bass. Nice throaty growl from the bridge pickup and the neck pickup does a decent p-style tone.

DR Lo Riders are the best strings I've tried on it - not the hex cores tho as I've just found out. 😣

ATKs are great basses. Very underated by those who don't know 😉
