The new Royal Birmingham conservatoire has opened. They have loads of free gigs, Check the website. Ikon Gallery is always worth a visit, Town hall etc. You should check out hare and hounds in Kingsheath and Moseley in general. 15 minute bus ride on the 50. The O2 and institute. The Custard factory.

If you go to the Hare & Hounds, it's on Kings Heath high street, so plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Alternatively if you go to the Custard Factory, you have to go to the Digbeth Dining Club, which is a great night out (http://digbethdiningclub.com).

I quite regularly go to gigs at the Institute in Digbeth and I wasn't aware of the Digbeth dining club.

I'll definitely be having a look at that the next time I'm there on the weekend, so cheers for the heads up.

They have some decent live music in the Digbeth Dining Club - we saw a superb blues band there a couple of weeks ago. If you do find a band you want to see there, head to the upstairs bar, as you can grab a table that overlooks the stage (and is close to a much quieter bar!)
