Anybody else noticed this from Schecter:

I know it's bonkers but I've always been intrigued by the idea...

P

PS. GAK have them in stock at £719 for the fiver and £689 for the four string. Too expensive now for a punt, but maybe when they're clearing stock?

What about this : http://ubass.free.fr...l/gillesUB2.jpg

Ohh I've always fancied a Leduc U-Bass. Never seen a half-fret one before though.

Maybe I'm just being a bit thick / missing the point here, but the spec says:

Inlays Ebony Side Blocks
Frets Fretless

Isn't that what we're seeing in the picture, a fretless fingerboard with ebony inlays stretching halfway across it rather than lines, and definitely not half-frets?

You are quite right.

Still doesn't stop it form being ugly though.

Great basses, I owned and played in my duet a 6 strings fretted U-Bass that I sold to Serge Leverrier when I got this : http://leduc.fr/index.php/series-l/basses-de-la-serie-l/164-l-09-la-u-contrebasse-moai

There are only two half-fretted U-Basses, the first ever was made for Gilles Coquard and the other for Serge Leverrier : https://myspace.com/mariesergeduo/mixes/streammix-705750/photo/371919485

Oh yeah, looking closer, you're right. So I got all intrigued over nothing at all.

Please ignore all future posts....
