Straight amp shootout

Hello. This maybe an old topic, but, for rehearsal purposes if I wanted a little amp to plug into my 210 cab, straight in and no messing what would be good? Plug and play style. It’d be good if it had a di on it just in cases........
I use a bass and a tuner, no effects, I just require a half decent sound.

Thanks

Must say her Elf looks infinitely better in her pocket than mine does in mine.. :gas: :gas:

I'd still take it if he can carry my cabs too ;)
(but I'm not responsible for his drinks/food/accommodation, right?)

Quilter Bass Block 800 would get my vote. Very small, weighs next to nothing, easy to use, extremely loud if required. I use if for rehearsals and my 'get out of jail free' at gigs in case the main amp packs up. Which happened earlier in the year and the QBB800 did admirably.

My rehearsal / small gig amp is an Eden WTX264 - does exactly what you're asking for: nice core tone with everything set at 12 o'clock, quality feel (click-stepped alu control knobs), bass boost that works really well in unplugged-type situations, DI - and cheap as chips (mine was £199 new). If not loud enough for you, there's a 500W version that looks the same.

Ah, no - I can see them after all.

Hardly practical though, is it? She'll get no sympathy from me when it smashes on the floor.

Not going to rub it better for her???  I'm assuming that Mrs WOT doesn't follow your posts...
