Just thought I would put in a good word for http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/

I ordered a load of strings yesterday at about 2pm and they came this morning. Super dooper.

Stringsdirect are actually a bit cheaper for my Elixir super light sets. I origionally went with them because for some reason stringbusters wasn't remembering my account info, and didn't do 6 string sets I was after when I had my Alembic. I haven't changed since!

I get my stuff from this place now, after years of buying from stringsdirect. Can't seem to beat these prices.

Although in a couple of weeks a work mate is going out to Vegas and will be taking my shopping list with him, so I'll be saving even more. :)
I tried to buy a set from Stringbusters. The website said the item was in stock, four days later stringbusters said they didn't have any and that they would send a set in 7-8 weeks.

I bought the strings on Ebay from the US and got them in two weeks at a cheaper price.
Just goes to show - never experienced anything other than hassle free next day delivery from Stringbusters .

I use the super light size Elixirs, with a .125 B for the 5 string. Not to worry though matey, I just got a batch and judging by how long these strings last on my basses I won't be after any more for some time. Cheers anyway mate ;0)

No worries fella, just thought I'd offer.

I should be going myself in March next year so I'll be getting myself a bucket load (check out the prices at 'Guitar center' they're amazing)

Try these http://saitenkatalog.de/shop1/product_info...de9fda121756b18

I ordered two sets of DR fatbeams for my 6 string, the price came to about £56 including delivery - £28 per set.

Stringbusters and stringsdirect normally charge about £40 per set.

The strings arrived after about 3 days.

Stringbusters once sent me a 5 string set when i'd ordered a 6. When I rang to point out the mistake they did send the correct set immediately and came the next day, along with an SAE to send back the 5 set.

Stringsdirect have always been 100%, although a little pricer on D'Addarios (which I use).

 • 1 month later...

I live within travelling distance of the warehouse. If I'm up that way, I drop in (they had a small shop, which has now expanded to include "Holiday Music")
The service in-person is as good as you guys are getting via mail.
They frequently let me into the stock room to have a look at strings and stuff. They're quite knowledgeable, but are (predictably) better with guitar advice.
They do, however, admit the limits of their knowledge when it comes to products they're not that familiar with AND will listen to their customers' experiences.

So...

A +1 from me, too!

If the amp/instrument retail side goes the same way, they could indeed be very good for things besides strings!

Im gonna be needing some short scales for my Musicmaster very soon - looks like Strings direct are the guys to use then! Cheers for the thread. Never used D'Addarios before, seems like they are quite well liked on here (I normally use Elites on my long-scales)?
