I've had the same model in the past and they're very nice. As Steve says no acoustic bass will keep up with a heaviliy strummed pair of acoustic guitars because the bodies just arent big enough. You'd need one the size of an upright to do that (or one of those Mexican things..) The Tanglewood resonator is louder but, of course, it sounds different. It's got a great "Upright bass" sound when plugged in though Oh and a friend of mine has a Kiff pointy acoustic bass as in that link. It's no louder but it gets a load of attention when he plays it. They are an acquired taste - certainly not a style to buy without trying as I found they hang in a strange way when playing standing up. I only sold mine, beacuse one day I will have the ass kickin B778 model (Nikki Sixx edition is based on this one) which is awesome, but 5 times the cost. The onboard EQ on acoustic basses maybe the make or break with any them. Cheaper basses may be ok'ish in a room but on stage, the better bass will prove its worth. The Takamine is a choice acoustic. The cost of shipping (a solid) varies from about 50 quid if the shop will use the US Postal Service to $200 + if they want to use DHL or whatever ..
