GrapTech or Brass

I'm in the process of setting up a second-hand Lightwave Sabre bass theat I bought recently. It came with both fretless and fretted necks (although I'm unlikely to use the fretted one) and I noticed that the fretless one seems to have a replacement brass nut. It's not particularly elegant looking although from a mechanical point of view it seems to be doing the job. However once I've decide which flat/ground wound strings I like best on it I think I want to put a new nut on it that is more appealing cosmetically. So what do you think GraphTech or a better looking brass one? Or something else?

All opinions considered.

From an aesthetic point of view the black nut on the (unused) fretted neck looks better. The neck is all maple (or similar light wood) including the fingerboard with tiny black dots on the face between the G and D string for fret markers. And the rest of the hardware is black.

I put a graphtech nut on my Fender jaguar, amazing difference over the standard one, it was like fitting a new set of tuners. Smoother tuning, these things really do work, that said i am fitting a brass nut on my incoming Warmoth neck purely as i has gold frets and hardware.

Looks brass, performance Graphtech,
