Any idea on this?

Hi Everyone. I just found this forum and was basically wondering if anyone could shed a 16 year old mystery?

Basically I got this old bass guitar for my 21st Birthday from my parents a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away. They knew I'd always wanted a Rickenbacker 4001 with being a massive Rush fan. Anyway they must have bought this battered old thing (which I love!) from a second hand shop.

I know it aint a Rickenbacker but I'd really be interested in knowing what it actually is! I've heard of a lot of Rick copies being made in the 70's then stopped via a lawsuit, one of the better ones was an Ibanez but that had a bolt on neck apparently.

Now I know the Ricks have a dual truss rod in them. But they alslo have a solid body.. The majority of the copies have bolt on necks as well, but this has a solid body.

There is absolutely nothing written on the bass anywhere.. Nothing about a country of manufacturer, or anythign that would give a clue..

Some of the names I've heard are Hondo, Shaftesbury, Ibanez.

Can anyone help at all?
