1. Ok,so I ordered the 5 string acoustic. I was waiting for a 4 string but since I can never seem to find it in time, I just went for it. I must say that that I'm suprised at how long it was available, until I made up my mind. Now all I have to do is wait for about a month or so...:| I hope it turns out ok.
2. Have you been happy with the acoustic dekos? I've been wanting to get one but i keep backing off from it,because they aren't as easy to fix...
3.
My PJ5-HTR truss rod seems to turn quite easily, and adjusts the neck properly. I thought this was a plus.
Ok,that's what I thought, but is it so light that it feels loose, almost like it's unscrewed?
4. My PB-20 has been playing great so far. The one thing I noticed is that the truss rod is very light to turn,it still adjusts the neck but I'm not sure if it's suppose to feel that light. Has anybody had the same issue?
5. Thank you guys, that's great advice. They take influence with bands like In Flames, insomnium, etc. That's pretty much what i thought i should do,lock with the drums and play the roots, that's really all you can do,except for some intro or bridge where I can try to put something extra in the mix.
6. Hello! So recently,i've been asked to join a metalcore style band. At first,I hesitated a bit, mostly because, even though I enjoy metal in general,I really never played it. I've only played covers for the last five years or so and the only originals band I had was in the rock genre. Anyway, another thing that's new to me is the alternative tuning, (they play in drop D),so i changed my tuning to ADADG. Despite all this new stuff,I decided to give it a try.(hell, why not? At least,to check out something new...) My question to any other metal bassists is, what would be the best way to aproach the bass lines for this kind of music? Do I just play roots and follow the guitars? I usually try to do some fills long the way but with the alternate tuning,I kinda mess it up a bit... Any advice? Thank you
7.
3 weeks?!?! Do you live outside Europe? Sounds like a result. Hope you enjoy it. What does it sound like?
Not really, but kinda... I live in the Azores, right there in the middle of the Atlantic ocean... It takes about a week to get to Lisbon, then another two to get here(by sea...) It really sounds nice and warm as would be expected for an average P bass,I'm surprised...
8. Hello, everybody! So,after 3 weeks or so,my P bass arrived... So far I only put it thru a quick setup and honestly, I still haven't found anything wrong with it,apart from the D's stamped on the back of the neck and body. All the hardware seems to work ok,the electronics too, there's a small amount of buzzing past the 12th fret but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm pretty happy with it! I think it's a keeper!
9.
Hi Leonardo. I love the Azores, which island are you from / on?
Hello,I'm from Terceira island, have you been here before?
10.
http://www.thomann.d...d_seri_deko.htm P-Bass Deko. Also, some others. EDIT: Some guitars including a LP copy and a 'Vintage strat', but they disappeared quickly. P-Bass still there. £19 I think. EDIT: P-bass gone.
Hello, everyone! I was the one who got this P-bass. I hope it turns out ok,i've been looking at these decorative instruments for a long time, actually looking for one of the vintage series basses, but I could never seem to find them available in time, they would just go too fast (and get posted at the weirdest hours...),so I snatched this one as fast as I could. I'm hoping that with a few tweaks and adjustments,I might make it gig worthy...Has anybody else got one of these? Did they come with any severe issues?
11. Hello, everybody! I'm not exactly new to the forum, but all i've done here so far was mostly research, not a lot of posts, and I haven't really made a proper introduction yet,so here it is: I'm from the Azores,I've been playing bass for about 15 years or so (even though i'm really not that good...).I've been a part of one or two more locally relevant bands (one originals and one covers),although right now I'm a little off the scene... My current (and simple) rig is as follows: -Fame Baphomet V Bass -Eden E300 bass head -DIY 410 bass cab loaded with Carvin PS10 drivers I hope i can make a more meaninful contribution to the forum from now on.Cheers
12. Yes,you're right and I'm aware of that, and I really haven't tested the driver thru WinIsd yet. But I was only questioning if anybody out there had ever used this brand before and if it is a good choice for bass guitar.
13. Hello. I'm thinking of building a couple of 12" bass cabs, and looking around local shops (just one or too really, this is the Azores...) for what drivers were available, I found the Monacor Stage line series. Has anyone ever used this brand for bass cabs? I'm not sure how good they are because i can't really find any reviews for this brand on that particular use. Any help is greatly apreciated.
