1. If doing straight covers then learn them at home along to the cd. than at practice have a listen through as a band so you're all on the same page as to structure etc then have a go! be prepared to "fudge" the songs a little to help with the flow depending on the make up of the band (replacing keys sections with guitars etc) also that set seams like a very varied set so could be quite a stretch for your singer! be prepared to change the key that your playing in to suit. just make sure that they're fun to play and up tempo! they won't need to be spot on, but the crowd will need to recognise them!
2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
3. from a legal point of view its got something to do with melody rather than chord progression. (i think?)
4. PMT just outside the city centre is the nuts! Large shop, good range of stock and helpful staff (well the two who helped me out last time i was there were!)
5. I have applied those stickers to all my basses! got them off evilbay for a few quid and well worth it! They are clear to see but aren't as bright as the led markers so don't look tacky and over the top. the led markers always remind me of the guys with all the neons under their cars i.e. the fast and the furious nail varnish is a good tip! mine didn't fall off but used to slide around on the neck before the varnish.
6. If i'd known about this yesterday I'd probably of had it off you! I don't fancy driving all the way back though.
7. Such a Beauty! I want it so bad!!! Just out of budget for me though - would you entertain offers?
8. for a solid state its unexplainably very heavy, (it weighs more than the cab does) the flight case for it is on wheels so it makes life a little easier.
9. do you really need two kidneys? have you ever considered selling one?
10. i've stuck my ampeg rig on ebay! I bought it a little while back to record my bands ep with as my old ashdown had a problem with the Di out. Since I have got my hands on a custom marshall pre valve rig and I love it to bits the the ampeg has become redundant and its a real waste for it just to sit in my garage gathering dust ( and i could realy do with the readies at the moment!!!) I don't know if it's just me, but i was lured towards the ampeg after all the exposure they have 90% of bands on telly are using them! but I just couldn't get on with mine, I don't know if its the 'classic ampeg tone' but it just didn't suit my style/sound i want (i miss the wooley sound of my old ashdown), Oh and it weighs a tone, But dont let that put you off, each to their own anyway follow the link and have a look http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=010 many thanks!
