1. So, this Saturday I’m picking up an empty Fender Bassman 215 for just under €40 (just under £35 converted). At first, I only wanted to buy it for the recessed Fender/ Cerwin Vega/ Peavey/ etc. handles it has, which my Peavey F800B is missing (and with its 25/ 30 kg isn’t much of a lightweight, especially without handles). After taking those off, I was thinking of just selling it. But then, the idea to keep it and find some speakers popped up in my head and I started looking. But with those ideas also came some questions. So here they are: 1. What year is it? The only Fender 215s with info I can find on the web are the diagonally placed and taller ones, but the ones with a vent at the bottom are much less common. 2. What were the original speakers that came with it? EV’s/ JBL’s or something? 3. What are good replacement speakers? I already found a set of EV SRO 15L and 15B for something around €200 (approx £170). Good price/ speakers for a bass cab? See attachments for photos of the cab. Any info which i’m not asking for but is good to know is also more than welcome.
2. Biggest board got up-/ downgraded (up in sounds, down in size). Ditched the M13 for the M9 and the PDS2700 for the PDS20/20 (finally!): Chain: Boss TU-3 --> DOD FX25B (808 mod) --> T.A.A.S. Basscreamer Deluxe --> EHX POG2 --> Fuzzrocious Rat Tail --> GGG-Tuned "Muff Diver" --> Digitech PDS 20/20 --> Boss DD-6 --> Boss PN-2 --> DOD FX10 You can hear a few sounds i'm probably going to use for a (S)NES project I have coming up here and here.
3. Finally took the time today to search for all the pics I took of my current boards every time I changed the chain(s) last few months. We start at small for sessions which only need the necessary. From there on a bit more drive options.. Or instead of the boost a chorus and/ or delay for the occasional feedback/ modulation party. For swells/ stutter/ 808-kicks/ noise and the rest, I have my PT-2. Lots of (not so) useable sounds available. And last but not least; an M13 for some sounds that I don't have on the PT-2 and looping, which does come in handy with a project with influences from Battles/ Tobacco that I just started with some classmates. Still trying to decide on whether I'm going to swap this one for a M9 + a designated MIDI pedal for the looping or if I'm going to roll with the M13. Few things I'm still looking for are a Digitech PDS20/20 and XP300/ 1000 (or an XP100/200/400 that's been modded to XP300 specs), Boss PS6, EQD Bit Commander/ Rainbow Machine and a few bits and bobs so I can swap a few up for different kind of flavors. But by the time I get those, I probably need a bigger 3rd pedalboard... Damn.
4. So, I recently acquired a DOD FX25B for dirt cheap (€20, which converts to something just a bit under £15) and I want to mod this so that it can make the Roland 808 sound Nick Reinharts' (Tera Melos, Swollen Brain) his FX25B makes: http://youtu.be/HUmH9XjNcf8?t=3m Does anyone have an idea of which resistance/ cap/ thingy to bypass? (And sorry if I should've posted this in the Repairs & Technical forum!) EDIT: Can't seem to post the video; only the link. Which code do I have to use so that it'll become just a regular YouTube window?
5. Bought this off Bassnut62 about a year and a half ago and though it's a nice pedal, I'm not using it enough to justify keeping it, so it's going up for sale. Not your typical ring mod; the Antenna is a fuzzed out ring mod which can be set to a kind of pitch tremolo which can go from pretty slow to way too fast (is that possible? Yes, it is!) and the Android is a somewhat cleaner ring mod with a "modulation/ LFO" mode, where the ring pitch is constantly seeking a new pitch, so pretty cool for some soundscaping. Both sides can be turned on simultaneously for even more sonic mayhem. As you can see on the photo, the labeling has gone wrong, so I made a "map" where you can see which knob does what. Also, it doesn't do this pedal justice to only put pictures on here, so I'll make a soundclip one of these days. So, i'd like to sell this for £105/ €150, but if there are people willing to trade with one of the pedals written below (+ some money from my side in a few cases), I also consider trades: Digitech PDS 20/20 Digitech XP series Strymon Blue-/ Bigsky Line 6 M9 Earthquaker Devices Rainbow Machine Ibanez DML20 If there are any questions about the pedal; don't hesitate to send me a PM!
6. GGG-tuned (or basically any) muff with flat mids and tonebender mod. Lots of low end, due to the first diode stage being defeated and thus some clean leaking through and with the flat mids mod, you'll punch through the mix without any problems.

Bassnut62

Bought the Antdroid "The Nut" had for sale. Fast communication and always in for a laugh (for example, we were constantly talking about "alienating the Netherlands." Highly recommended!
9. Do you have something like a soundclip (with fuzz and/ or octaver if you also have that?) of the q wah?

Delay?

I mainly use my Digitech PDS2700 delay for in-between-songs stuff and a few parts with my Post-rock project Frank (frankthebunnyrabbit.bandcamp.com. Old stuff (2 years back), but there's new stuff on its way!). Beside that I use it for fun and noise. Nothing more.
11. Pedalboard as it is since yesterday evening: The signalchain: Bass (in this case a prototype (!) Gibson G-3, but I also use a Rickenbacker 4001C64 or a Yamaha SA-70) -> Boss TU-3 -> Technophobia Bassscreamer Deluxe -> Fuzzrocious Rat Tail (w/ clean blend) -> GGG-tuned Muff a.k.a Muff Diver-> EHX POG2 -> CopilotFX Antdroid (2 ring modulators in een doosje) -> Digitech PDS2700 -> Boss PN-2 -> Amp. I'm finally happy with how it is now. Only thing that misses is a midboostswitch on the muff, but with the tonebendermod it already has bass enough, so that is something for in the future.
12.
I can highly recommend the GGG Green Muff Clone to build Si
I absolutely second that! With the tonebender-mod (removal of the 1st diode stage) it even gets more bass!
