  1. It looks like some option prices don't make sense. For example, does having no fret mean an upcharge? Surely, it costs less?
  2. It might be useful for any of you into recording, etc Normally, costs $39 Ends 3 March https://guitarbomb.com/2024/02/24/free-soul-squash-vintage-audio-compressor-pedal-limited-offer/
  3. Not exactly cheap... Epiphone Rex Brown Thunderbird Bass. Though quite nice-looking https://guitarbomb.com/2024/01/16/epiphone-rex-brown-thunderbird-bass-smoke-on-this/
  4. Please excuse my ignorance as I am a guitar player by trade. I have a nice Vintage V4 Bass (P-Bass-style thing) and I'm about to do some recording in the studio with it. I'm looking for suggestions on what to use as a mute for the strings. Currently, I'm using some foam for the job which you should be able to see in the image below. Are there any other things I could try that might yield better results? Felt, etc My reason for muting is that I want a vintage tone for the recordings, with minimal clank and to make the notes more percussive. I'll be playing with a pick, as I like that fast attack it gives the notes on more complex runs.
  5. Many have commented that it is missing a clean blend, etc I would happily try one out on my Bass VI though.
  6. New EQD Blumes bass overdrive pedal, based on the Plumes https://guitarbomb.com/2024/01/04/earthquaker-devices-blumes-low-signal-shredder/
  7. https://guitarbomb.com/2023/12/22/fender-japan-launches-exclusive-wasted-youth-collaboration/ One for Budweiser fans? Err...
  8. I reckon it is pretty decent looking for well under £200 and could be worth a punt. I already have a 5 string J Bass, so not really in the market for another one, or I'd order one
  9. Harley Benton JB-75-5MN Natural is a new 5-string bass with an American Ash with '70s styling. Looks pretty decent for an affordable bass at around £170 https://guitarbomb.com/2023/12/15/harley-benton-jb-75-5mn-natural-5-string-bass-at-an-unbeatable-price/
  10. These look really good, expensive, but nice. They've made it 9V at last and apparently even quieter than before. My friend has the first version and loves it. Unfortunately, no updated video demos, yet. https://guitarbomb.com/2023/11/04/arkham-sound/
  11. Only $3199... EBMM Retro ’70s StingRay Bass https://guitarbomb.com/2023/10/31/retro-70s-stingray-bass-musicmans-nostalgic-ode-to-a-classic/ 31
  12. You lot are so negative... 🤣 I quite like it, but my first instrument is the guitar and so I play bass like a guitarist (badly), so I would rip riffs on it all day long. Different mindset I guess.
  13. Works fine in Logic Pro, Ableton and Reaper for me (and yes it is free)
  14. Sterling by MusicMan DarkRay with Darkglass distortion circuits. At last an affordable version of the EBMM DarkRay model. I like it and it looks pretty tasty all in black. https://guitarbomb.com/2023/10/24/sterling-by-music-man-darkray-with-darkglass-distortion/
  15. Free Ampeg virtual bass rig which might be useful for some of you.
