  1. I've got an intelli one for my acoustic, but it does not pick up the low E very well so i can't imagine it would be much good on bass, despite the sound control guy saying it would be fine for both.
  2. First time i nailed "The Lemon Song" by Led Zep, i got goosebumps. Also, I love "for Whom The Bell Tolls" - Metallica, especially the live version ala Cliff Burton.
  3. I got a hard rock cafe one from Barcelona, had what appears to be a stu hamm urge bass, upside down, with a dragon snaked around it. Pretty cool.
  4. Just bought his ashdown mini15 cab and i couldn't be happier. Very easy guy to deal with, really helpful and great communication. Definitely recommended. Thanks again dude, Dom
  5. Hey, got any pictures? Also, where are you based. Cheerz
  6. Hey, so after a successful exam results day, im off to bristol , but a question to those who have previously gone off and lived in halls, shared houses etc. What should i take bass-wise? I don't see that i will need my hartke head and cab, at least not for the first term. Also, apparently, my first choice halls has a music room which has a drum kit, and possibly guitar/bass amps. Would a headphone amp (or in my case, running headphones off my me-50b) be ok, or should i look for a practice amp too? Also, security? Should i take my best bass? Granted, its not the most expensive, but still, should i take my less expensive backup? (I remember a couple of threads along the same lines back on BW, but can't find any on here) Cheerz, Dom
  7. Those finishes are mouth watering, very nice duuuuude.
  8. - 18 - Metalhead - Special powers: the ability to take out a front row by head banging I play mainly finger-style, like playing metal, but also some blues, can't beat the lovely groove of a blues bass line (ahhh The Lemon Song.
  9. I don't know about underrated, more shadowed by Brain May and Freddie, but for me, it's John Deacon from Queen.
  10. Always liked the looks of dean, helps being a pantera fan i suppose, but i have never been convinced that the ml would make a good bass . The new razorback's look a bit strange too. Nice, but strange.
  11. Still gotta buy some of them strap locks, i don't trust the levy straps I have a no-brand quick-release strap and the obligatory levy's strap, same one as the bassist from the film rockstar.
  12. Hey again, used to visit ye ol' bassworld a while back (as dtbmx), just found out the story and such so i decided it was time to sign up here. So, im 18 now, been playing bass for 4 maybe 5 years now, fueled on liqueur and waiting to get me a-level results so i can go do physics at bristol (all being well). Equipment: MIM Fender precision special, not the best, but i like it , backed up by an Ibanez EDC and an old Peavey milestone III (1st bass, emotional attachment). Also, i have, ahem, a cheap-ass fender electro-acoustic guitar, for when i'm feeling a tad off . I have a hartke 3500 and a clapped out 210tp which should be replaced soon, im sure its not safe Effects wise, still have an me-50b however bad it is, and a phat-hed which i think is woked. I'm into blues, hard rock, plain old rock, metal and dabble in a little southern rock with the usual idols; Geezer Butler, Cliff Burton, Rob Trujillo, Jack Bruce etc. See ya'll around!!! Dom
