1. Pleasant guy, very friendly and very helpful especially since I'm a bit slow with the whole forum/paypal thing. Bought his Orange Terror Bass, packaged and delivered nice and sharpish. No hassle, quick messaging. Another happy customer!
2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
3. Putting this up to see if there is any interest. Bought about a month ago brand new, been gigged every couple of weekends since, stored at home and well looked after, a few unfortunate scratches in the vinyl cover on the back but nothing bad by any means. This is the one that has black speakers not blue ones, the guy at the shop told me they are uprated, I haven't looked into it but I imagine he's right, reluctant to sell as it leaves me ampless during a period of booked gigs unless I can fund something else. Preferably after a head and cab set up, maybe even the same thing, who knows? Wouldn't mind trying other stuff, if somebody has a trade offer (maybe interested in 4x10 if i can figure how to transport) otherwise £400 Pics will be available tomorrow if necessary
4. £150 is a very pretty price, I'd be more than happy to buy it right now and walk away a happy man, but on £0 income I'll only regret it later!
5. I've tried that, it does work but only in the extreme, by that time I've lost a fair old amount of clarity
6. Ah ha! It may be the tweeter, however there is no option to turning it off. Cept cutting the wire of course
7. Hey! I've recently purchased the Ashdown MAG300 2x10. I've played through plenty of these, usually a head into cab not the combo version and I think the sound is good, however I think mine sounds absolutely terrible! I use one in a rented rehearsal room (into an 8x10 cab, granted more power but tone should be similar) that I can just plug in and play, don't even need use the EQ I just run it flat, my amp couldn't be any different. To get any bit of power out of it I have to activate the EQ, and for the band I'm in I drive up the mids a little, okay so that's expected but the thing that annoys me most is a horrible clanking noise when I'm playing I just can't seem to get rid of! I've questioned everything, whether it's my bass or even just my playing, but I have never experienced this offensive noise through any other amp! It winds me up more that I've already had this amp swapped due to a speaker fault and all other Ashdowns I have tried sound great off the bat! If I'm doing something wrong tell me but any suggestions are welcome, I've only had it a couple of week and I'm already seriously considering selling it in favour for something else Cheers guys
8. Alright... It's worth a try regardless of coming from nowhere! Hey All!! First off, I am a bass player, age 17, from Burnley seeking to join or form a new band. I have solid gig experience and I have been part of a variety of different bands. I also provide vocals, backing vocals mainly although I'm not shy of doing SOME Lead Vocal.. I also play guitar but this is mainly for me to write songs with. I have previously been in Classic Rock, Heavy Metal and Pop Punk cover bands in the past, all of which I have gigged multiple times with, now I am looking for something much more serious and playing mostly original material. I am still currently playing Lead Guitar as part of the Pop Punk covers band but the band isn't going well due to personal and musical indifferences and I feel as though I'm wasting time and effort for something that I have little passion for. After a little time thinking I am 100% intent on finding like minded, strong musicians to work with on original songs and gigging. I enjoy I wide variety of music from Melodic Death Metal to Indie to Classical to Dance/Trance.. It's hard to pin point so here is a cross section of some artists I like: 30 Seconds To Mars, The Agonist , Alexisonfire, Amy MacDonald, Angels & Airwaves, Bloc Party, Breaking Benjamin, Dead By April, Dream Theater, Enter Shikari, Evanescence , Explosions In The Sky, Fightstar, In Flames, Kings Of Leon, Lostprophets, Machine Head, Mono, Nightwish, Paramore, Sick Puppies, Skillet, Soilwork, Sonic Syndicate, The Wombats. I am very open to listening to anything and like many different genres and styles. And of course I have written a few songs of my own which may be worth a listen for a like minded musician. I'm a very quick learner and I'm up for using as much creativity and being as experimental as possible. Currently I don't drive but I am learning so travel might not be entirely convenient, however I am able to reach beyond Burnley to surrounding towns and areas. Reply.. PM me, tell me what you think. I'm willing to put everything I can into writing, playing and performing the music I have a great passion for. Hopefully see someone soon!! Cheers guys, Josh!

Bloody wish i could afford this! Ideal for xmas since it fits my exact xmas budget.. But I don't expect it to be here that long :/
10.
I love the peacock blue-ish colour they do. They must look great on stage, but one thing I've always wondered, does the colour not rub off onto your hands/the bridge/nut, say if you sweat?
I've used the DR Black Beauties and Red Devils.. The only noticeable change in the strings over 5 months was that using a Pick really wears the colour off them.. Fingerstyle was fine though, the only bits that wore off were the bits against the frets AND the colour does rub off on anything! I highly recommend DR coated strings, I just can't afford them again
11. Interested in The GEB-7... Low on funds atm (Student!!).. Will get back to you if it doesn't go before then
12.
You said you didn't like vintages...But i've been playing a v950 for over a few years now, its an awesome bass IMO http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1423...a-5-string.html
Well I'm playing a Vintage Jazz atm, i love the action (mild buzz but i'd rather that over high action), love the neck and the tones are pretty nice, it's my main bass over my thunderbird simply because the tone is a bit lighter. It's a well made bass, but I don't think i want another vintage, i'd like to try something else, i've played practically ever vintage bass available through my local. I liked the V950 untill i plugged it in and played with the active electronics.. It goes from full on to full off, i don't think they're well balanced at all, i'ts hard to get a decent tone without it being too much of one thing from the active electronics.. which is a shame really because i love the bubinga look. So far I'm interested in the ibby's and the yamaha, they seem to be getting positives in this thread which is nice.. Looks like i will be going to the "good" guitar shop to try a few out. Just gotta sit tight until December now D=
