Total Watts

1. Welcome BenLockin. I use an Ashdown Superfly 500 watt head and Ashdown Superfly 2x8 and 1x15 cabs. About as light as you are likely to find and, IMHO, a great sound. Also, due to the completely undeserved (IME) bad reputation, if you can find the range used, it does tend to be VERY reasonably priced. Good luck!!
2. I had pretty much the same dilemma a a few years back now when I was toying with the idea of parting company with my trusty old Gibson 1972 SB450L which had been with me since 1974. I'm pleased to say that the esteemed BassChatters here gathered talked a lot of sense to me which resulted in me keeping it and, I have to say, I have never regretted the decision. And, as somebody has already said, if you have to "think about" whether to move it on, it is NOT the right decision/ All merely IMHO, naturally!
3.
Still one of the best cabs i have owned
+1. Me too!!
4. Pleased to hear the gig went well Pete. It's a venue I used to do in the DSO days and my biggest memory of it is that the management always kept us waiting for about an hour to load-in and then expected us to be loaded out and gone within 10 minutes of the last chord being struck. Happy days!! I trust that it's improved and/or is under new management now? I seem to recall that it is where Frank Skinner learned his trade in the early days? I think Snarky Puppy did it earlier this year too. VERY pleased to hear that it is still trading. anyway.
5. Welcome Frosty!! It's great to welcome young players like you!!
6. IME, lots of Local Authorities, not to mention provincial theatres, insist on production of PAT Testing Certificates ( NOT just stickers all over your gear) and Public Liability Insurance Certificate before they will allow you to start your load-in. Simple really - comply and do the gig and get paid or don't comply and don't do the gig.
7. Another vote for the Chromes from me.
8. Putting the title of this thread into Google produced this in a very short time: http://www.google.co.uk/#bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&fp=eb1551c29386c3f7&q=where+to+get+9v+li+ion+rechargeable+batteries Lots of suppliers there I think. Google really IS your friend sometimes, isn't it?
9. I've been using a Behringer HA400 for a number of years without incident. Cost me less than twenty quid if memory serves. No idea if or how it differs from the MA 400 mentione above, but it has sure served me well over the years. Highly recommended.
10. VERY odd that you should put a price or trade value of £20 on it only to ask for 3400 Euros later in the same post. Is this some form of new fangled high pressure sales technique?
11. Bugger!! You beat me by seconds!! If you don't like it, shotgun second dibs.
12.
What a load of rubbish.
I'm assuming you mean the Le Bon travesty? Luckiest man on the planet in my book!!
13.
Drop-C Save yourself the cash. Octave pedals are great, but from what you've said I don't think it would be the answer to your particular issue. Hope that helps!
+1. For sure.
14.
I love Chromes. Bright for flats, but still with a bit more warmth and depth than rounds. They do have a bit more tension than a lot of stings (noticeably more than the Ernie Ball Slinkys I use for rounds). But they're excellent strings IMO.
+1.
15.
Sorry, I meant Sat 15 June!
It's a lovely little venue - you should have a great time.
