1. Thank everybody for the interest you are showing in the [sfx] website. Just a quick note about the website certificates. The website supports http but it does not support https. If one try to access the website via https, the browser shows and error (it should show a connection timeout but this is another thing that I am trying to address). The reason why it does not support https is because it is not necessary. At any given time, there is no personal information that goes from the user to the website or vice versa. The content of the webpages is always the same – regardless who visits it. In other words, the webpages never show name, email address or any information about who visits the website. Equally, the website never asks name, email address or any other personal information. Purchases are managed via the PayPal secure server via https protocol. As I mentioned before, I am working with the company that provides the hosting for the website. I hope, in the next few weeks, to address the issues that emerged recently. If you feel that my explanation is somehow unclear, please do contact me directly on the email address you can find on the website. I will be happy to discuss with you any technical detail that may interest you.
 2. I am glad that everything has been resolved. Your micro-Thumpinator is on its way to you. Regarding Chrome, I tested the website with Chrome and it works on my computer and tablet. I thing that your suspicion is probably correct: Bitdefender AV stops the website from loading. There should be a way to add an exception Bitdefender and allow your computer to load it.
 3. Thank you for the kind words sifi2112. I'm happy to hear that you enjoy using the D3,
 4. Hi Everybody This is Max at [sfx] Just a few words to assure you that everything at [sfx] is ok. We are operating normally (well... as much as we can given the problems we are all experiencing because of COVID-19). The company that provides the website services to [sfx] is driving me insane. The website goes down unexpectedly and I'm working to get to the root of it. Regarding the delivery time, confirmations and other details, you should be able to find all the info in the T&C page. If you need more details, please do not hesitate to contact me. I'll be happy to help. Please accept my apologies for the problems the website stability is creating. I'm working on it.
 5. I managed to try a Ibanez Signature GVB36. A person that was selling it on eBay, very kindly, allowed me to try it. Nice bass. Ironically, I found the 14mm string spacing perfectly ok for playing slap. It was a little bit too narrow for fingerstyle but not too bad though. It is probably just matter of getting used to shorter finger movements. I would have liked the string spacing at the nut a little bit narrower and a thinner neck. It felt a bit unbalanced compared to the string spacing at the bridge. The narrow string spacing gave the instrument a guitar-like feel when playing chords that I really liked. I don't think it is the perfect bass for me especially because of the width at the nut. I'm happy I tried it though. It gave me a good reference point for my next 6 string.
 6.
(...) custom will be your only option.
Custom is an option I'm considering. The SR1206 I tried was ok regarding the string spacing but the neck was a little bit to thick. It sounded very nice though.
... and here's a second hand one for sale in London for a reasonable price.
Thanks Rumple, I sent the person a message. Hopefully, he will allow me to try the bass.
 7. Thanks everybody for the suggestions and ideas!
Had I have still had my GVB I would have gladly come to see you Max! - I'm afraid I sold it in the end.
No worries Dood.
(...) My suggestion would be to go direct to the Ibanez UK distributor and instruct to have one sent to your nearest Ibby stockist. Kinda how I got mine in fact! Ibanez have always been pretty brilliant with me so hopefully they'll do the same for you.(...)
Unfortunatelly, my experience with the Ibanez UK distributor hasn't been as good as yours. I contacted them in two occasions via email for unrelated questions. They didn't even bother to answer. It is a shame because Ibanez instruments are actually pretty good.
 8.
I'm not sure if they have the exact model you're looking for but I popped in Wunjos on denmark street last weekend and they had a fairly extensive selection of ibanez basses: the new ones with the nordy pickups looked great. Maybe pop in there and give some a try?
I went there a few week ago and they had a SR1206. Nice bass. The string spacing is 16.5mm. Ibanez SR1206 .
 9.
I don't have it any more unfortuately but have you tried a warwick corvette? I had a five string that sounded wonderful and had very very tight spacing at the bridge around 15mm at a guess.
Thanks for your suggestions CamdenRob. I haven't tried a Warwick Corvette. I must admit that Warwick are not really my thing but for testing narrow spacing it should do the trick.
 10. I'm not an expert on P-basses but I can't really tell. They both sound pretty much like a classic P-bass to my uneducated ears. It may be due to the GHS flats that help in making the two basses sound similar. Regardless, I doubt that in a band situation the majority could hear the difference. Without taking anything away from the Maruszczyk (that is a cool bass) the Fender has classic look that perhaps in a gig people would recognise.
 11.
Got an itch for a Warwick Dolphin Pro 1.
Very nice
 12. I’m try to find a shop somewhere in London where I can try an Ibanez Signature GVB36 Gerald Veasley. I called a shop that I relatively close to where I live (London/SW18), the web site showed "2 in stock" but apparently "in stock" means "in stock at the distributor warehouse" (!). So, if I want to try it, I have to buy it... I have a Yamaha TRB-JP (1995) that is fantastic but I developed a tendinitis and the wide neck disagrees with my left hand. I tried 16.5mm basses and they are ok but I would like to find out if I can play something even narrower line the GVB36 (14mm). Does anybody in London have a bass with string spacing narrower than 16.5mm that is kind enough to let me try it?
