My Babies

Thank you. Yes the Squier sounds as nice as it looks. I upgraded it with an Audere J3Z preamp.
3.
How much difference was there when you dropped in the Audere? ALso there is something about these basses. I really like them, but they look like they need a good kicking to get 'that look'!
With the Audere: More punchy sound, kinda agressive one (the preamp output signal is adjustable with a small screw inside). Being able to adjust lows, mids and highs separately is also very important to me; the mix is way better now. So I'd say: more punch and a more ''accurate" sound (is it the proper word ?). I'm afraid my English is too poor to describe the differences the way I feel so why not listening to a soundclip I recorded after I had put the Audere: here (with much reverb ) and one I recorded before: here (something more ''roots'') and make your own opinion ? Hope it helps.
4. Squier VMJB with Audere J3Z Fender PB Reissue 62 JP Basses Lucii
5. I own a MM Stingray 5er with maple fretboard. I like the sound and look. Though the maple fretboard gets dirty quite quickly and one can see it, I do not clean it very often.
6. I own an agathis Squier VM (fretless) and it sounds the way I like.
7. I had exactly the same goal when I recently purchased my MIJ JB. The pickguard has already been changed and Wizard pickups should be on their way to France within a few weeks. I will keep the original bridge (for vintage/cosmetic reasons) but probably add an Hipshot Xtender to get the low D. The (used) bass was ok when I received it, just the usual dings on the body and head that you will find on almost every Fender bass coming from Japan. The rest showed absolutely no scratch and even the frets seemed to be brand new and unplayed. LOL I have got 3 MIJ Fender basses since the beginning of the year. All were upgraded (or are about to be) and I am now a happy man.

9.
Plenty of Laky owners on this forum.
That is definitely right
10. I own several basses and the fretted one I play the most for gigging is a Lakland 55-94 Classic. The fretless one I play the most is a JP Basses Lucii 6er.

New Tune...

Went to your myspace and listened. Interesting things there. Your guitarist is definitely a Zappa/Vai fan, right ? 1984 sounds good. Too bad you have no singer in your band. Is it something you already considered ?
