1. I've just bought a speaker cab from Paul. Very helpful, straightforward transaction. He shipped it 'up-north' from London. It was well packed and arrived in great condition. Good guy to deal with. Cheers Pete
2. Really surprised this hasn't gone - they are one of the best sounding acoustic basses around. Here's a recording I did earlier . . . I think I used the piezo and a normal mic and combined the signals
3. I bought a guitar stand from Shaun and it was a very straight forward transaction. Shaun was very helpful throughout. He delivered the stand to a friend who lives in the same city very promptly - easily outperforming Fedex. A pleasure to do business with him.
4. Hi! I would like to buy you Sinsonado bass. However, I live in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Is there a possibility that we could meet halfway? Say somewhere on the M1 north of Derby. Cheers, Pete
5. A really good, under-rated combo. I use it for my main amp - acoustic blues combo. For bigger venues I add an 8 ohm external speaker and it gives 250watts.
6. Paul bought a rack tray from me. He seems a really good, understanding guy - especially when I made a bit of a cock-up of the despatch. A pleasure to deal with. Thanks. Pete
7. Hi! Is this the 12v or the 9v version, and is there an XLR out? Cheers, Pete
8. Hi folks, if anyone is interested I'm about advertise 4 micro racks for sale - I no longer use effects and they've been in a cupboard for at least 5 years. Do you think £50 each would be a fair price? If anyone from this forum wants too make me an offer I'll hold off putting them on Gear for Sale forum. RBF-10 Flanger RCE-10 Digital Chorus ensemble RCL-10 Compressor Limiter RSD-10 Digital Sampler delay I also have 2 x 2 micro-unit rack trays - although I can only find one at present
9. PJB (Phil Jones) Flightcase lightweight 150w combo £300 (Current GAK price £679, Bass Direct £650) Weighting only 11 kg, this is the combo with 4 x 5" neo speakers - two of them upward facing. It has a remarkable bass response for such a small unit and in addition the small speakers are able to move fast enough to reproduce transients well. It is at the hi-fi end of bass amps. •POWER: 150W •WEIGHT: 24 lb / 11 kg •DIMENSIONS: inch 12.6 x 15.75 x 13.6 •INPUT: Active / Passive •AC VOLTAGE: 100-240 Volt / 50-60Hz 4 x 5" PJB NeoPower (2 facing out and 2 facing up) 5 Band EQ, Optical limiter Fx send and return Line out, Tuner out, Headphone out, Balance line out I am selling it because I play an acoustic bass guitar - a Tacoma Thunderchief - which is very resonant and feeds back at very low volumes. The upward facing speakers, while being ideal for solid instruments cause the Tacoma to scream. I've used the amp successfully with a solid bass guitar where it really brings out the character of the instrument. Apparently it works well with EUBs. It is not the loudest of amps, but it does have an XLR out so can be DI -ed through the PA for larger gigs. 10. Now sold. Thanks for the kind comments. A great amp and sorry to see it go.
11. Thanks, guys. It really does ooze quality sound. I'll be sad to see it go - but I've got to face up to advancing years.
12. SWR SM-400 rack stereo/mono amp with valve pre - £250 Designed by Steve Rabe, , the SM-400 was introduced in early 1985 and has been called "Legendary in the world of bass heads" by Bass Player Magazine. It is a rack-mountable and features: valve preamp (12AX7) 4-band semi-parametric EQ mono and stereo effects loop adjustable limiter aural enhancer electronic crossover stereo/bi-amp balance control output bridgeable for mono output XLR balanced out When used in the stereo mode, the internal power amplifiers of the SM-400 will deliver 300 watts @ 2 ohms, 240 Watts @ 4 ohms and 140 Watts into 8 ohms. When used in the Bridge mode, the SM-400 will deliver 250 Watts into 16 ohms, 400 Watts into 8 ohms and 420 Watts into 4 ohm loads. I'm including two quality bridge leads in the sale. A full description is available here: http://support.swram...dfs/sm400om.pdf When I used it I bridged the outputs and fed them to a 15' Eminence cab and a 2 x 10 Laney. If any one wants these they can have them both for £100. (No photos yet but I'll sort them if anyone is interested. The amp is in good condition and I really like the sound. I'm only selling because I'm too old to carry all this gear to gigs. I'm afraid I'm going to buy something that doesn't sound half a good but that I'm able to carry.
