1. Anyone know what the length(!) of a standard boss style DC 5.5x2.1mm jack plug is? trying to find a male to male adapter that matches. I ordered some online but the bloody things are too long. Here's the adapter that I got vs a standard plug. Thanks!
2. I guess there's not much point in posting my board now. It's the one at the top 🤣 Korg Pitchblack Poly > Line 6 HX Stomp > Darkglass Element. All powered by a Truetone CS6. 🙂
3. Thanks! The Delano's are something else, sound amazing. I was gonna put a black pickguard on it at the start but then decided not to, the paint just looks so f***in' cool!
4.
I had an Elite I Cliff stylie for 20-odd years and although it was heavy and left my forearm red raw every time I played it, selling it was up there in the top 5 of stupid thing to do. Got nearly twice what I paid in 1986 mind Do love me Jazz now though...
I've got me one similar to Cliff's also (in my avatar). It's an unofficial sig bass from the custom shop. Great bass, but the Elite II still whoops it's ass.
5. Out of the 4 I own, I'd say that my Aria Pro II Elite II is the top dog. I love it, it's so comfortable and has a really nice growl to the sound. It's completely passive but when I got it first I thought it was active, the output is very high. Needless to say I was a bit confused when I opened the control cavity and realised that it wasn't active. My new jazz is catching up on it but I'm still in that honeymoon period so we'll see!
6. Here's a new Jazz that was put together for me recently. The spec is; * B. Hefner 60's spec alder "Jazz Bass" body finished in Nitrocellulose Sherwood Metallic Green. * Mighty Mite birdsye maple Jazz Bass neck. * Delano JMVC 4 FE Pickups (hum-cancelling) * Audere JZ-3 Preamp * Leo Quan Badass II bridge * Bone nut * Hipshot Ultralite tuners * LaBella 760N nylon tapewound strings It's very nice to play, and a welcome addition to the gang.
7. Nice basses! I really like the RSB Deluxe 5'er. I really wish Aria would make some new higher end SB-1000 style 5'ers. I've got a few Aria's myself, love them.
8. WOW! Excellent work man, you did the bass justice.
9.
It's for new products only, it came into force in July 2006. Anything that's sold new in the EU from that date has to be compliant, no matter where it was built.
Ok thats good then. We have some stupid law over here on electronics recycling. I don't know if you guys in the UK have it? Basically you have to pay a PRF (producers recycling fee) on each electrical item you buy, and that includes electric musical instruments. The shop is legally required to take back the old product to recycle it when you buy a new one. BUT why the f*** should I have to pay one on a bass, granted its only about €2 but still. Who the hell recycles their basses?
10. Wow... I vaguely heard about this before but I didn't think it'd have that much of an impact. I got an Audere Preamp a while back (JZ3) and it was stamped that it complied with the RoHS Directive. I don't think this should apply to used items, that would really screw stuff up for us. What if I wanted to import an old bass from another country, like Japan for example, which I've done before.
11.
haha, a familar face!
I think remus is around here somewhere too, although under a different name.
12.
its just GRANKOR in faux cyrillic
Hey man! I'm not stalking you, honest.
13.
Am I right in saying that the first one is the exact same as Cliff's besides the black hardware? Looks pretty sweet with all black hardware man!
Yeah, it's the unofficial Cliff Burton signature. That's what the CB stands for in the name. They're built like tanks for sure! 11lbs each.
14. Here's two of my basses, snapped both of 'em up last year from a store in japan (Ishibashi), both of 'em Super Basses....mmwahhahaha.... '07 Aria Pro II SB-1000CB ...and here's the other one... late 80's Aria Pro II SB Elite II
15. Here's my baby As you can see, I've done some work on 'er. It's now got a Mighty Mite ebanol boarded fretless neck, Reverend 10K P pickup, and a Badass II. It has to be THE lightest bass I've ever played now, it clocks in at 2.5kg or 5.5lbs.
