2. Hello, I bought this to put in the bass I recently sold, but never got round to it, so I thought I'd see if anyone on here fancied it! Its genuine ernie ball taken from a 1991 four string stingray. One sold on ebay recently for £89, so I'd like around £80 for this one please. Based in Liverpool, can post at buyer's expense. I'll put photos up in the next day or so, but its going on ebay on Sunday. Please PM me, as i'm rarely on this forum anymore Cheers, James
  3. For a quick sale, i'll include a hiscox light flight case and chunky padded strap!!

http://s1003.photobucket.com/albums/af156/...man%20stingray/
  6. As much as it pains me to sell this bass, I don't play anymore and I need to pay for flights, so its got to go to someone who can appreciate it!! Early 90s maple necked 2eq stingray 4 string in black with the seymour duncan pickup upgrade (well worth it imho). Neck is straight and it plays like a dream, although it has harldly been touched in two years now, so could do with a bit of a set up! Neck has been looked after and has aged beutifully, lovely and silky to play. It has a few dings and scratchs, as you'd expect from 20 years of use! Photos show my reflection (what an idiot!) and I shall take some more this evening along with some of the whole bass and neck! Photos can be seen at http://s1003.photobucket.com/albums/af156/jp998/musicman stingray/ ://http://s1003.photobucket.com/albums...cman stingray/ ://http://s1003.photobucket.com/albums...cman stingray/ ://http://s1003.photobucket.com/albums...cman stingray/ Looking for £650 ono, viewings may be possible this week before I go back to uni Any questions, could you please text or ring me on: oh seven 9 triple 6 94095 as I have no internet at the moment!

  10. I'v not played in over a year, so I'v decided its time to sell my stuff to someone who can appreciate it! I have a rack-ready hartke 3500 with upgraded groove-tubes valve, its fairly old with scratches etc. where its been taken out of the rack, everthing still works though and looks good from the front, where it matters. Sounds great as well! I can throw in a 1x15 home made (not by me) cab if you want it as well. looking for offers around £130 Also I have a LOUD 4x10 cab, for those that don't know, this was a guy who made cabs on a small scale which were well received, until he ran off with a load of people's money! Sounds brilliant with the amp. Offers around £50 I will also probably be selling a musicman stingray and a load of kit, so if your after anything else I may be able to help! Based in Northants and everything will be going on ebay soon, so let me know. email: jpattison123 at yahoo dot co dot uk Cheers, JP

    a bit of gravel??
JP, assuming yer' hartke is hybrid, I think probably the cheapest and easiest thing you could do is to bung a new valve in there, something higher gain. A lovely chap called Chris made up this list: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=42 I had a groovetubes 12ax7 in mine and if you cranked the tube side of the pre a little and dug in it gave a nice bit of grit.
Yup, bought my cab of him and had a bit of a chat about valves etc. I'v got a groovetubes in there at the moment, never thought to try and crank that a bit I'll give it a bash JP.
  12. I think vintage basses are like vintage cars (or anything else vintage), they are not necessarily as "good" performance, feature and comfort wise as new ones but they carry some sort appeal, probably because there aren't very many left and - "they don't make them anymore!!!!." This gives them a unique appeal - no one else can have one quite the same. As for the price, thats just demand far outstripping supply, nothing to do with quality (not to say it isn't there, just that somethings only worth what someone will pay for it) Bit of vague ramble, s'all good JP.
