1. Pedalboard revision: I finally subbed my OneSpot adapters for a decent PSU: Cioks DC10 mounted underneath the board. And as it's been quite a while since I posted my board here (not much of a poster, but a big time lurker ), I'll post another pic: Bass -> Polytune -> OC-2 -> DIY Bass Tubescreamer -> DIY D*A*M Ezekiel 25:17 -> DIY Big Muff -> EQD The Depths -> Line6 M9 -> Amp
2. My band announced a little giveaway on Facebook this afternoon: https://www.facebook.com/solidspaces/photos/a.701869716512457.1073741831.643703902329039/1236331436399613/?type=3&theater We're giving away 3 EP's, and the giveaway is open for everyone! So head over to our facebook page, like it, like the post of the giveaway and share it publicly to be in the game for an EP
3. Thanks, I'm a happy camper now! But in the very near future I wanna smack a Boss DD-5 or DD-6 on there too. And yup! It's actually a Space Station/XP300 in the housing of a Modulator. I was lucky enough to find one that wasn't priced too high. Pedal order is like this: bass -> TC Electronic Polytune -> Boss OC-2 -> DIY Bass Tubescreamer -> EHX NYC Muff modded to a vintage green russian one with extra mods -> Earthquaker Devices The Depths -> OneControl 1LoopBox with the Digitech Space Station in the loop -> Line6 DL4 -> amp.
4. And for all of you stream-only listeners, our music is up on Spotify/Deezer/Tidal/Apple Music. You can also download our music via iTunes, Google Play and Amazon. All links can be found on this page: http://solidspaces.lnk.to/debut-ep
5. Today we published a short clip for the ghost track on our EP (there's a ten second gap of silence after the last song, after which the ghost track begins).
6. Thanks, mate! Really appreciate it. I am very happy with how all of it sounds, and how my bass sounds.
7. My Muff was an NYC model I bought for dirt cheap. I then modded it to more or less a green russian one. The mods I have done are some of the most frequent I think. 2 switches are for removing the diodes from the circuit (one switch for each diode pair), another switch is to have a mid bump, and the last one is to choose between two resistors somewhere in the circuit which changes the character of the low end. All mods are very usable in my opinion, both on bass and guitar. Removing the diodes is such a cool trick: basicly you get a Colorsound Supa Tonebender, with the result of more volume (it really is loud), less compression and gain, thus a more open overdrive-like sound.
8. My Pedaltrain Jr is a bit crowded Polytune -> Boss OC2 -> DIY Bass Tubescreamer -> Modded Big Muff -> EQD The Depths -> Digitech Space Station (thus, a modded XP200) -> Line6 DL4. At this moment all pedals are powered by a OneSpot adaptor, except the Space Station: it uses an Line6 adaptor. Still have to buy a decent power brick though. I'm going for the Truetone OneSpot Pro CS12 probably. And I might need to either rehouse the Muff into a smaller enclosure, or buy a slightly larger board. All pedals are hanging over the edge of the board, but it still fits tightly in the softcase.
9. Then I'll have to hit the shop for a CS12. It also just popped to my mind that the EQD The Depths I have can take 18V for more headroom, it's worth a try. (According to the website: The Depths can be powered by 9v for warmer tones or up to 18v for a stiffer tone with more headroom and sparkle.) And like you said. AC is very rare for pedals these days. And once in a while there's a pedal that needs 18V, so yeah. I appreciate all the help I got, much kudos to all of you!
10. Thanks! So apparently I have two choices: the Cioks AC10 and the Truetone OneSpot Pro CS12. Hmmm, I'll have to dig in to find out whether they would fit under my older Pedaltrain Jr, but I guess they probably both fit in there. That makes it more difficult, both seem decent and have a decent amount of options. The OneSpot Pro CS12 is about 30 euros cheaper though.
11. Thanks man! Glad you like it. We've spent a lot of time and worked hard on our debut, we booked a decent studio and had our EP mastered by a professional. And it seems to pay off. Very good reviews in Belgium (where we're from), and it's also getting a bit easier to arrange gigs. Oh, and one of our songs (Nevermind) even got a little bit of airplay on the national radio. So yeah, we're quite happy. But it's also nice to see that people from abroad like our music. And we always appreciate every comment - good or bad - that way we can keep working on our music.
12. My band recently released its debut EP. Available on Bandcamp right here: https://solidspaces.bandcamp.com We also made a clip with some studio footage: https://www.youtube....h?v=OcpQoBhhIqk It's hard to describe what genre we play (cliche much? ), but something like "alternative pop" is quite okay, I guess. But there are also influences from funk, soul, rock, reggae, maybe even a little bit jazz sometimes. Let me know what you guys think! And feel free to like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/solidspaces/
13. To difficult for me though but thanks for thinking with me all!
14. I'll probably have to go with the Cioks AC10 (click) as I can't find any other PSU that will power my whole pedalboard including the DL4 and the Space Station.
