1. Definitely theme from shaft! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q429AOpL_ds
2. Update. Spoke to Fender UK, they pointed me in the direction of Darren Riley guitar parts in the US. They have the screws available so will order from there. Earlier I ordered a set of knobs (!) from eBay.
3. Managed to find some on eBay from an international seller. Thanks for the help anyway guys.
4. Does anybody know if you can order parts from Fender by part number? I need a screw (just the one fgs!) for my Deluxe Active Precision Bass Special control knob, and I can't seem to get them anywhere. It's for the stacked treble control knob on the bass and as it's smaller, no other screws fit it. Cheers,
5. First festival was Isle of Wight 2014. Came out of exams at school and then rushed down to the festival to play a 7pm slot!
6.
The Sherlocks stand out to me as one to watch.
The Sherlocks are brilliant, played with them in September and they're superb.
7. I don't think he was that great imho. Needs a band to fill out the sound. Also his guitar is horrible looking and sounding.
8. Won't comment on the bassist as I don't know that much about that kind of bass playing style. But the drummer really laid it down well, so tight and on the money and some great fills and grooves in there. And his speech about Nile Rodgers summed it up, what a brilliant performer and legend.
9. All of the Day and All of the Night - The Kinks
10. Somebody tell me how these basses are meant to be attractive.
11. Moved by it all. Doesn't matter whether you're a fan of some of the music or not, everybody absolutely nailed it. Music brings people together and this definitely has shown that. Credit must go to the production team for this event, it was less than 8 days they had to put this together!
12.
Lots of great basslines in pop chart crap. Here's a very unlikely favourite of mine... but perhaps now old enough to be considered 'vintage':
That is nice. Maybe this should be a pop chart crap bassline appreciation thread? Here's another 'vintage' I just thought of...
13.
Pop has always had great bass, just look at ABBA! It's often how session jazz guys make a living.
That's true! I didn't mean all of pop as whole, I was just trying to describe the music in the charts.
