  1. Hi I am interested in this neck, the one on e bay by the german guy is a no hope sadly, he has had that and other items for sale for 10 years or more and in my opinion is a chancer, but your neck looks great, but fretless is my only issue, but I have the rest of the bass with a g&l neck on it at the moment. regards,Nigel.

  7. Hi All, Having a clearout and I have a pretty immaculate, home used[attachment=105204:swr 001.jpg][attachment=105206:swr 003.jpg][attachment=105207:swr 002.jpg] SWR Workingmans 100watt 8 ohm ext cab with horn, tight sound, thank you.
  8. Best set ive seen for an age :-)
  9. No man, this is what the forum is all about, we learn from others, I was considering a palatino as well, interesting that needed work too, I guess its just expectations, price and build quality, I sold more than a few substandard les pauls in the 80's when I worked for a gidson dealer, they were 800 quid then, still you have a cool eub now though.
  10. @ TPJ awe, that sucks and interestingly enough answers Happy Jack, I now have the bass i wanted and as ongoing maintenance happens anyway, maybe at the start of your relationship with the instrument is the best time to get the niggles outta the way, the shop work wasnt to sxpensive and brought it in at retail new price, but its still only had a set up, albeit a major one.
  11. Due to the fact that most modern cheap basses are made at a price, they are barely finished as they get put in the box in china and shipped, hence my s/h stagg eub I purchased of a great guy was none the less not good when played, dead spots, fuzzy spots, terrible action etc and after a good look down it, a ski slope neck, so, planed of the black polymer finish, maple board underneath resanded and oiled, ebony nut and what have I got, 1 fantastic eub...be warned, you pay for what you get. (p.s a luthier did it for me)
  12. Effects...none ! lead to amp, the rest comes from the pinkies.
  13. Hi, Plenty of good advise there, I got a dean, the one on the stand, its not really an EUB but got me interested in them, so I purchased a used stagg for £220, it was unplayable in reality, as ive been a musician for 30 years and can set up basses and guitars I knew it wasnt nice and had high and low points on the fingerboard. My friend a luthier had to plain the fingerboard, as in his words, its a ski slope, then make an ebony nut, when he had finished he asked me what I wanted to do as he had gone thru the black polymer finish. I knew it was maple underneath, so I now have an oiled maple board and it plays amazingly.
