  1. Fixed....😉🤣
  2. Congratulations on your purchase. That's a very nice bass you have there at a very nice price 👍 I've not tried that particular recipe of Cort but just from the specs I would expect it to be good for me. Also I like the choice of using a clear pick guard so you can see the wood instead of slapping a cheap peice of plastic tort on to obscure it. 😮 (You probably gather I'm not a fan of tort 😒😁) I have one of the Cort NJS-5's and really like it. Straight out of the box it played and sounded great but in my tin of bits I had some Nordy's, Babicz and a Mike Pope pre and now it sounds betterer!
  3. @Bass Wielder.....thank you but you're really not helping my wallet/wife scenario either! 🤣 What would say is the "general tone" and feel of the bass like? Modern, punchy, vintage, mellow? I'm assuming from the pickup layout it might be Lakland5502-esque?
  4. There's an ACG Krell headless at the Bass Gallery that I'm quite intrigued by here. I've owned an ACG Retro before so am aware of the build quality and playability of Alans work. I've never owned a 32" and have thought about dipping my toes in those waters. As I live at the opposite end of the country its hard to just pop in and try it out. Has anyone been into the Gallery and actualy played this bass and can offer any insight?
  5. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.

  6. I think it was Mark Twain who said something like "Ageing......a privilege denied to many" and it strikes a chord with me. After a couple of years illness I was fit enough to return to work by which time I'd asked myself "Why?". My wife is 11 years older than me so leaving retirement to 67 meant that she would be 78! We looked at our finances eg: what we spend and any savings (piggy bank and down the back of the sofa!) and decided it would be a good time for me to retire. There wont be any world cruises or Porsches in our future but we dont care. We'll be able to spend OUR time doing things WE want before any health or age issues restrict us. Everyday I appreciate that I'm doing something not everyone can and that if I NEED to go back to work in the future I will. I'm not sure whether to tell people "I'm retired" or "I'm on my gap decade" 🤔🤣
  7. Cort Elrick NSJ5 great basses that tend to get overlooked for some reason.
  8. I like them both. Easy on the ears and plenty of interesting parts to follow. Reading the band members list made me smile 🤣 Is that your real name "Cardigan Fitzbadley"? 🤣 The Roster: BVs: Deanna Lead guitar: Johnny Bandit Acoustic & electric guitars: Hardliegh Worthit Bass: Cardigan Fitzbadley Keys: Dr Conquest Drums and percussion: Justin Thyme
  9. In about 2005 I needed a new "office seat" for home use and after using a KAB Controller office chair at work for a few years I decided to take the plunge. Most other office chairs I've had or used ended up being uncomfortable or just dropping to bits. The KAB isn't cheap at about £1,000 but is VERY adjustable with height, tilt, weight, headrest adjust, lumbar air support etc. After 20+ years of daily general use it is still in great fully functional condition and you can get spares. Note: from 2020 I worked from home as well so thats 12hrs per day, 7 days per week. The arms also pivot up so I can use it to play bass on as well 👍
  10. I may have missed a thread on this years show......how was it? I used to go to the bass show when it was on and really enjoyed it.
  11. Aaaargh! I don't need a back up Anagram. I don't need a back up Anagram. I don't need a back up Anagram. I don't need a back up Anagram. I don't need a back up Anagram......or should I ? 🤔🤣
  12. Have you tried the vinyl wrap on its own, just cut to the shape of a plate and attached direct to the bass body?
  13. Especially tort.....🤣 Double sided tape is a good idea for trying / changing plates without lasting damage to a bass. As others have said this may not be the best if it isnt a poly finish. I used double sided tape on a Lull I had. Both looked good but I decided "why have a lovely quilt finish and then cover it with a £10 piece of plastic?" If you're just looking to protect the finish then one cheap alternative I use on the backs of all my basses is a screen protector (these) which I cut to shape. Dont buy the tempered ones....they just shatter when trying to cut.....guess how I know? I've also used it on the front of my old Ritter. The one in the photo had been used for quite a while so did show some lifting on the lower edge, but its easily replaced. The Lakland shows the protector on the back. I don't know if they would be OK on a nitro bass finish. Just a random thought....has anyone used vinyl wrap for a scratchplate?
  14. I have the 800w powered version of this and they are really good, musical amps. Love mine. GLWTS 👍
