  1. I know what you mean about offset bodies....loved the sound of the Thumb I had but found the short top horn pushed things a little too far to the left. I cant say I've really noticed the Roscoe being "left biased". I have fitted Dunlop dual use straplocks where they can be used with a standard strap or the Dunlop fittings. When I double checked where the Dunlop straplock plugs in, its at the 13th fret.
  2. I have just gone through a lot of my studio / PA gear and removed the excess insert and patch cables etc. and have gathered together quite a collection of connectors. Some of the items are brand new never been used but all are in great condition and fully functional. I could be persueded to a bulk buy reduction. Postage would be based on how many and destination. The table below gives as much info on model / style as I know.
  3. Thanks for the offer but yeah, not what I'd be interested in 👍 GLWTS
  4. For sale are my used but not abused EMS 500 19" rack cases. The 2 racks are available separately or together. Both racks are set up the same and currently assembled as 6U but can be reconfigured as 3U, 6U, 9U or 12U with removable top. The lower rack is currently assembled to a board with castors which isn't included in the sale and will be removed before shipping.........unless you really, really want it and then it would be an extra £20 and whatever the increased postage is. These are quite special cases as they are modular construction where you can increase or decrease the number of rack spaces by easily adding or removing side and end panels. All you need is an allen key! You can also use them with a mixer installed in the top and the top panel can be easily removed! See the photo of how I had the units set up for my band PA. (None of the rack equipment is included.) All catches etc are in good condition. Rack to rack depth is 48cm. Weight per 6U assembly is 18lbs / 8.2kg. See the attached brochure for more details. The 6U Gator version of this case weighs 13lbs so slightly lighter but is NOT as rigid, road resilient or has the flexiblity options. As these are modular I would propose they are dismantled and flat packed for shipping to reduce the cost. I'll give details on how to re-assemble if you need but its quite straight forward. I've estimated UK postage to be £15 per unit. 6U Rack Unit 1 - the upper 6U rack unit in the photos on its own - £90 6U Rack Unit 2 - the lower 6U rack unit in the photos on its own - £90 Both 6U rack cases - £160 Board with castors - £20 EMS.pdf
  5. For sale (or trade) is my Cort Elrick NJS 5 bass. The sale includes the Cort gig bag. There are some very small marks from use but easily missed and hard to photograph. The bass is as stock but I did swap the control knobs out. The original ones can be refitted and / or included in the sale (see the last photo). The same Bartolini preamp that’s installed on the US made original Elrick NJS basses is used, with 3-band EQ, 2-way push/pull mid select, and push / pull active bypass. Hum-cancelling Voiced Tone VTB-ST pickups. Wiring diagram attached. Elrick NJS 5 Wiring.pdf Why sell? Well, the merry-go-round of gear continues and I’ve decided I need to apply the rule as one comes in, another goes out. Not only that but I own 2 of these they’re that good. My initial idea was to defret one and get back into some fretless playing. Since then I came to my senses as I remember I’ve tried fretless several times in the past and it was not pretty! Collection preferred from Aberdeen so you can try it out. As Aberdeen is a long way from most of civilisation, I will ship to mainland UK at cost using Parcelforce. I’ve estimated this based on a London postcode to be £20 via Express24 (without insurance) Specs: Body: Alder Neck: Bolt-On, 3pcs Hard Maple Fretboard: Hard Maple, 24 frets with Zero Fret Inlay: White Pearloid Block Scale: 35" (889mm) 18mm string spacing at the bridge Pickups: Voiced Tone VTB-ST Electronics: Bartolini Elrick NJS Special Preamp (NTMB+F) Tuners: Hipshot Ultralite Weight 9lbs (bathroom scales)
  6. It took me a while to get my head around this when I was first trying to install series / single / parallel switches in one of my basses. I then came upon this diagram showing 2 types of DPDT switch connections. It looks like the one in your diagram is type 1. Using this diagram and inserting the switch connections (in red) onto your diagram lets you see the current flowpath. Parallel Series Single This one is different because (for the top pickup) the current flows from the + , throught the black wire / pickup / white wire to the switch and then on to ground. Although the green wire is connected to the switch terminal the flow gets dead ended throught theother pickup to the red wire. Hope this helps
  7. Achieved....just for the number of CD's alone! 🤣
  8. Just sold Steve a Gator rack unit. Quick payment, good comms and as others have said an easy transaction. Thanks Steve 👍
  9. For sale my used but not abused Gator 2U 19" rack case. All catches etc are in good condition. Rack to rack depth is 32cm so not the shallow version. Weight is 9lbs / 4.09kg. New these go for about £105. I've estimated UK postage to be £10.
  10. I'd prefer a straight sale but trade wise probably a Mesa D800+ or something 5 string and active. Whatcha thinking of?
  11. Just bought a pair of speaker cables off Graham. They're in great condition and it was an easy deal. Many thanks.
  12. I'm interested in the possibilities and options of such a system. 👍 I'm assuming from your numbers above: 2 guitars (one in stereo) = 3 chan 2 keys (both in stereo) = 4 chan bass = 1 chan sax = 1 chan 5 vocal channels drums = ? chan That's 14 channels without any drums through the system. Is that enough as a sound engineer could easily use 6 mics / channels on a kit? Would you be mic'ing the kit or leave that to the engineer using house mics? I'm assuming you would be providing all the cabling between instruments and your mixer / splitters? Would this include from the drum mics? I'm not sure I would use a 10m loom from the splitter to FOH. I'd just use bulkhead connectors on the rack unit and let the sound engineer do the connecting from there to their stage box (just like they would if mic'ing up).
  13. Yes I remember it. David Shields and John Vannerman ran it and did indeed have a Wall of Wals. Many years ago (April '98)I'd somehow found out that John was selling his matching pair of fretted / fretless 5 string Wals he'd had made and he was asking somewhere between £1500 and £2k for the pair! The next weekend I travelled down from Huddersfield with the intent to buy them.....but they had been snatched up just before I got there. I do remember John showing me a pair of Sei fretted / fretless 5 strings (never heard of Sei at that time) but I ended up trading my Pre EB MM Sabre in for a JD Calibas my gateway drug into 5 strings! 🤣
  14. I think excessive volume is a common problem for many jams (and gigs). For a number of years I used to be in the house band for the local blues jam. I kept saying the volume is causing people leave. People would be sat with their fingers in their ears and then leave, it was that obvious. We had a really good sound guy who would (as requested) mic everything up......and then mute it at the desk as the stage volume was so high he couldnt do anything with it! He had a superb Nexo / Allen & Heath system at his fingertips that he could only use as a vocal PA I eventually tired of it and passed the batton to others.
