8. I was interested to read the comments concerning Sadowsky basses. During the 80,s and 90,s I earned a living playing bass in the clubs of the North East. I had to cover a lot of different styles and genres of music. At that time I was using Fender Basses. I also tried JD, s Status basses etc. I found that the fender basses worked in all situations better than the above. I am a big fan of Will Lee and what he does as a musician, which is cover ring a lot of styles of music. His tone always sounded great to me. I saw a picture of Will in a bass magazine with his Sadowsky bass and thought it looked great and sounded great when he used it on the Letterman show. I decided to save up the cash and go for buying a Sadowsky bass the same as Will’s at the time. I found the that dealing with Rodger Sadowsky over my bass was a most pleasurable and professional experience. The bass arrived exactly as planned and sounded incredible. I gigged the bass the very same night that it landed and the whole band was blown away by look, and more especially the tone. I am lucky enough to still get compliments on the tone of the bass from musicians and members of the audience. To me that’s why Sadowsky basses are worth the money. As for being an expensive fender jazz copy, they are not. I also have a 1970 Custom shop limited edition Fender jazz bass, fitted with a Sadowsky pre-amp. The Fender and my 4 String Sadowsky bass sound totally different. I also have a 2009 NYC Sadowsky 5 string with an AAAA Burl Maple top and Ebony fingerboard. This bass sounds totally different from the other two. To sum up for me Fender Jazz style basses work well in a situations. Sadowsky Basses just kill in a live situation. Here are my 3 basses

 10.
I need to raise some cash as I want to buy the Fodera thats for sale. I will sell any two out of these three basses as I honestly couldnt choose between them as to which ones I prefer, they are all absolute quality. I will post photos later but there are some on the threads here which I will mention. If the Fodera sells I will probably rethink this. Sadowsky MV5 Sonic Blue 5 string Jazz bass. See the Sadowsky Porno movie thread its the first bass in there. I have fitted the VTC in this and will sell for £1100 which is a steal. GB Spitfire 5 string, the one in my avatar, its also in the GB Porn thread and is a simply stunning bass which plays and sounds superb. Looking for £1100 for this which is what I paid for it a few months ago. Proel Softcase only with this. Celinder P bass passive 4 string. This is in the Celinder bass porn thread, 2 tone sunburst and as owned by Flanker and LoudnClear. You will not get a better passive B pass. Its got a lovely slim Jazz bass neck that makes it super playable and nails the P sound to a Tee. Looking for £1400 for this which is what I paid for it recently when I bought it back off Terry. Would prefer to meet halfway rather than ship but wouldn't rule it out. As I am after money no trades unless you have a Fodera ;-) Thanks for looking Steve
birdy the fodera is on hold at this point pending a sale dave
 11.
Beautiful bass, I used to have a simple VW Monarch without the extended equalising. This makes me think about buying another, why are you selling it ?
the bass isnt really me great bass great tone but i never gigged it
 12.
isn't this the bass that Uriah Duffy was gonna buy a couple of years back ?
no that fodera had a spalted top .
 13. Hello, for sale is my Fodera Monarch VW buckeye burl top mahogany back 4 string bass. I bought this bass from Marcus here on basschat a while ago. This bass is in fantastic condition, it has not been gigged. There is zero fret wear and it appears in an almost brand new condition apart from one minute ding on the top edge. (See pic) This bass sets up a dream and has no neck fret or finish issues. I have priced this bass to sell at £2350.00. Sorry no trades. I would prefer cash on collection, or could meet buyer at an agreed half waypoint. Thanks for looking. Regards, Dave (Newcastle upon Tyne).
