1. i got myn today and i love it, havent fully got to grips with it yet though - will crank it tommorow and have a proper play. but beware - the guy said it would take a maximum of 10 days to make and a max of 7 days delivery PLUS there would be no import tax on it, because of the price he put on the box. however, it took 5 weeks delivery, and i got charged £14 import tax... maybe i was just an anomaly though. but its pretty much a vital tool on anyones board, even if they dont particularly need it, you will definetly find a use for it at some point. im running my EBS multidrive through it, because i want my clean tone with just a bit of crunch.
2. youre a madman for selling it at that i bought a new ebs classic 410 for 500, and this is the proline, which are like 750, am i right ? either way, im gutted i didnt see this before, hah.
3. jesus christ that was a good deal lucky bastard whoever swiped it
4. either that, or how the hell do i get hold of some 2.1mm DC male to male short connector cables..
5. ok i have one of these http://www.diago.co.uk/pedal-power/alterna...-powerbank.html has 5 9v outputs, 450mA total current available i have 4 pedals, each between 10-20mA the powerbank came with 5 connector cables to connect all of the pedals up to the main thing, however i have lost 2, i cant find replacements ANYWHERE. what i was thinking, is getting a daisy chain(Picture), and plugging it into one of the 3 remaining connector cables - as a sort of alternative to having 5 of the original connector cables. would this work ? would the power be shared equally ? please please help me out
6. Basses: KSD custom Ibanez EDC700 Ibanez AEB100 Amp/rack/cab: EBS HD350 EBS Classic 410 Behringer BTR2000 Effects (through parallel loop): EBS BassIQ -> EBS UniChorus soon to get a sansamp bass driver or multidrive ! hmm which to choose..
7. LOL thats exactly what i thought within milliseconds of seeing it
8. i think better gear is essential because like someone said earlier, if you sound good, its one less thing to worry about, and most musicians are audiophiles. so because of that, we can concentrate fully on the music. if i sound bad, then thats all i can think about, and i end up playing worse. plus with good gear and a good sound, the musicians that are watching you (the people that really matter) appreciate it. which is definetly the golden bonus.
9. well, its got character ill give it that ^_^
10. i just got a ken smith jazz with EBS pre-amp - its stunning. when i got it home i shocked myself playing it - i almost fell over the sound was so overwhelming. at first i was terrible at playing it because im used to my other bass (ibanez EDC700) which has a totally different feel. before i got this bass, i loved my last one so much i promised i would never neglect or sell it - now that i have this new one, its literally been thrown under the bed. so in answer to the question, i feel i now could not live without my ken smith.
11. the song that made me want to learn was take the power back by rage against the machine the slap thing was mind boggling at the age of 11 - "you mean... they actually whack the strings with their thumb? i dont believe you" the first line i learned was come as you are by nirvana, and i learned that before i played bass, just messing about with a friends guitar
