  1. Just bought a ODB-3 off Rob. Great comms, fast dispatch and all round easy transaction. Cheers.
  2. Blackstar U700 Elite in fantastic condition. Price drop to £325 - new would set you back about £680 and this is pristine condition. Selling with additional 4 way official Blackstar footswitch. The amp came with a 2 way footswitch so now 6 way switchable giving multiple effects. I would prefer collection and I can drive approx 1hr to meet up If you would like to arrange your own courier/insurance then I will package up for collection. The labels on the footswitch will peel off. I placed these to remind me what each switch does and they are intuitive coloured coded - footswitch lights different colours to correlate with each effect. Paddy.
  3. Do what you gotta do to keep playing and enjoying yourself!
  4. I had a practice tonight with my old band as I am depping for them in a couple of weeks. The good news is I've finally found my sound that I have been striving for. The difference is going back to round wounds after quite a while with flats. Retrovibe T-rod, D'addario 35-95 round wounds, Evo 500 iii, Barefaced 210. On return home I told my news to my wife 'Ive finally found my sound' and her reply was 'good perhaps you will stop buying stuff now'. Happy times!
  5. Such sad news. I had the pleasure of meeting Nick whilst buying a bass. He made quite an impression on me due to his enthusiasm. RIP Nick.
  6. Yep, same models as the pictures. Well I might just give it a go and if the holes line up then hopefully just a set up required. I don't think I will venture down the route of drilling and doweling but who knows. Thanks for the reply.
  7. BTW the T Rod is p bass compared to single of the 51 - so swapping pickups isn't feasible. I'm confident in doing my own set up post neck swap as well.
  8. I have a Retrovibe t rod Tele and a Squire 51 Tele. I prefer the sound of the Retrovibe but the neck of the squire. Should I be able to swap the necks without issue and what could be the possible pitfalls of this. The measurements appear the same. Technically it doesn't bother me but I don't want to waste my time. Paddy.
  9. I am crap at answering these type of questions. What I can say is I could hear my sound more evenly across the pickups. I doubt this helps!
  10. Ahhhh, I've just bought a set of these and fitted them! I had my first practice last night with them and very pleased.
  11. I just had my first practice with a band with newly fitted toneriders p bass pickups (I have always had Kiogon solderless looms fitted to my basses) and they sounded absolutely mint!
  12. A local shop 'Martins' years ago sold me a book that fell apart on a holiday to Dominican Republic (it was bloody hot and I thinks the glue couldn't handle it). On return I tried to get a refund to be told I must've dropped the book in the sea. I never went back to that shop no matter if there was something I really needed. The shop has since folded (not because of my lack of funding). Whenever I boycott a shop or online store because of bad service my wife comments 'are they the new Martins'!!!
  13. Not bass related but I was scammed with an advert on my browser for a camera. All looked absolutely genuine and I still couldn't believe a dodgy advert could appear where it did. Anyway it was an item I wanted at a too good to be true price and I was suckered in. Realised almost immediately as I didn't receive a email receipt but too late to stop the transaction even though I was straight on to my bank. I felt angry and foolish. Just go careful out there with your hard earned money.
