1. Bought Matt’s Squier Classic Vibe 50’s P. He was very accommodating in letting me pay by bank transfer rather than PayPal and the guitar was despatched and received very quickly. It was well package and the bass is exactly as described. No hesitation in recommending Matt as someone to do business with.
2. I think it was back in 82 when I first trekked from Scunthorpe to Wapping returning with a ‘66 EBO which I only recently parted with. It was a toss up between that and an EB2 and part of me wishes I taken the EB2 home instead.
3. Have you had a look at Ishibashi's U box. I got a mint non-export Aerodyne earlier this year for a little over £350. Mind you, postage and duty took it to £550 all in.
4. Just posted on ebay - buy it now price is £160 with postage to the UK about £64 and $57 import which makes it around £250 all in. Squier series for Squier money! Hope the link works - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1994-1995-Fender-Precision-Bass-Electric-Bass-Made-in-Mexico/381553981716?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D3b7efd743c5d4f4a9366eb597e23937c%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D381553981716 ebay item number 381553981716 if it doesn't
5. My Silver Series Jazz ends 626 so this must be a younger sibling! Cracking basses and wouldn't part with mine. GLWTS
6.
It looks good. I'm impressed with what you can tell from what you can see in the pics. I'd love the chance to work on that one. But it's a bit far north for me.
Had a trip up to Sleaford to view it but l wasn't sure what it was until I got home and did some research. Seems it's common for owners to get rid of the "Squier series" logo but probably not with a chisel as in this case. Like I said earlier, a bit above my capabilities.
7. That's the one. Has Schaller tuners as well. Body much lighter than my 2004 Mexican P which troubled me and the work needed is beyond my limited DIY abilities.
8. If anyone is looking for a project there is a p bass currently on Gumtree - seller is in Sleaford Lincs. It could well be a Fender Squier Series as it has the Black Fender logo and the serial number dates it to 1994. It seems someone got rid of the "Squier Series" decal with a chisel as there is gouging where it would have been. The scratchplate is single ply and the body has been through the wars including a matt black DIY respray at some stage.
9. A seller with the same user name sold a bass exactly like this on 14 Jan on eBay- It went for £407 plus change- so would guess it has gone.
10. Are these photos of the actual bass you have for sale? I ask as they appear to be the same photos used to sell a big block on eBay a fortnight ago (which went for £299) and it got me wondering?
11. I saw that Thomann had recently removed the HB Thunderbird copy from its website but when checking yesterday I noticed it had reappeared but wiith a bit of a facelift. Does anyone know whether this was by choice or not? http://www.thomann.de/be/Harley_Benton_tb_70vs.htm It was the tb 70 but is now designated bt 70. I think I prefer the old version!
