HI dad3353, yeah ive looked and missed a few or other times is been a matter of distance. Thanks for the further info stingray, the 22 is very appealing at the moment. Anyone any comments on the Stentor as ive heard some good things on these as well, thanks Sean.

Thanks for the comments everyone and buzzy I have read your threads about the bass before with much interest. Yes I've looked at gedo and that may be somewhere to investigate further. I have to admit the thomann 22 sounds slightly nicer to my untrained ear than the thomann 33 though I believe the thomann 33 is fully carved spruce compared to the 22 which is carved spruce top and laminate maple back and sides - what difference would I notice between the carved 33 bass and part carved 22 bass in terms of the sound or anything else, thanks Sean.
