1. Bought a DOD FX25B from Alex, completely hassle-free. I paid, it turned up and works like it should. If only all purchases were that easy.
 2. Hmmm, fly out Friday, do the day, fly back Sunday morning. Very tempting indeed. *goes off to Google b&b's in Markneukirchen*
 3.
On that note, playing with your knob would be fairly impressive.
Damn it! Trip to the GUM clinic for me now, I just caught a nasty disease from my strings! OT, as a (still) newby to bass I tried both. Can play a helluva lot faster with a pick (as you'd expect from a reformed 6stringer), but really prefer the tone from using fingers. I did get some pretty cool results from my JS chromedome pick though, boomy drone-tones with the scratch technique
 4. So, I are haz done a new tune. An 80's themed ballad for the CBC 80's challenge. Not sure if anyone here takes part in Jude's Coconut Blues Club monthly challenges over at Soundclick? If not, very worth joining in if you like composing. It's just about making new music, no competition, no prizes, just having fun with tunes Walk with me Link to the Coconut Blues Club
 5. OK, I'll play New to this bass malarkey, so no clue if I've got the signal chain correct. Seems to sound OK though. Should probably ditch the Wah and get a smaller device for pitch shift stuff, but I need to replace the left-hand side for skinny string duties. Bass bits come off, guitar bits go on. Damn, I need 2 boards
 6.
Really like the clip and playing (bits of the solo have a real petrucci/satch vibe). The vibe from the tracks is great as well. The only thing I noticed is that the recording is clipping pretty heavily. Could be an idea to have a look to see whats causing that, whether it's actually on the recorded tracks, or what I think is more likely is that the track's are individually a bit high, so when everything hit's together, it's clipping the master buss.
Thanks, I try and see what happens... Still learning about DAW stuff, I tend to just press go and bodge the results. I'll look at better mixing in future, thanks for the tips
 7. Bought Andy's FX-25B. As seems to be par for the course from reading the other feedback, great communication throughout. Came really well packaged, working perfectly. Definitely a good guy to deal with, big +1
 8. Bought Gian's EBS MicroBass ii. Great comm's, speedy delivery and well packaged. Glitch-free deal all round
 9.
modded DOD FX25B into FX looper.
What's the mod on the DOD?
 10.
Sounds very Pink Floyd to me, very David Gilmore. Great feel to it.
Certainly not going to complain about that kind of comparison
 11.
Hi folks, my band album is being mixed and we want to know more about mastering and places to go. Whats peoples good / bad experiences? Places to go? Prices? also if any of you could post up if you have any knowledge about it, that would be great! We are a heavy-ish (insert genre here) rock band This is our last single, just so you have a ballpark as to what type of band we are and what we need from a mix! Cheers
Can't help too much on the mastering front, I muddle through doing my own as best I can. Did really like the song and video though.
 12.
Well I'm always a sucker for the influence of that band. Sounds fine to me. At least you haven't fallen into the trap a lot of guitarists do and play the bass like a guitar. A nice simple line and it fits perfectly. Nice playing all round. Good job.
Not sure which band you mean. Thanks, I'm making a very conscious effort to learn Bass as a bass player. It might have strings and look similar, but is after all a totally different instrument and I want to try and play it properly.
Fits nicely Very chilled... righteo, back to my metal
Again, thanks. Seem to be going through a chilled phase atm. Probably something to do turning 40 a while back and the new littlegreenwoman
 13. May just have to pop by one time soon.
 14. Only really started playing Bass seriously a few months ago, after 20-odd years of 6 stringing. Did a little thing today and wondered if you kind peeps would give me any pointers where I'm going right/ wrong? The First of Evermore In advance, Ta!
