  1. Established Notts/Derbys-based covers band looking for an exceptional drummer who can play a mix of rock, pop, R&B, disco and Motown. Band play through a digital mixer/line array PA, use IEMs/headphones & a good electronic drum kit. If you don’t already own one, we have one you can use! Diverse songbook with material from Supertramp, Pink Floyd and Bruce Springsteen through to Sophie Ellis Bextor, Earth Wind & Fire and Diana Ross. Rehearsals in our own space NW Nottingham and gig around the Notts/Derbys area. Typically 2 gigs a month in pubs and clubs (with the odd bigger event) and currently 20 booked over the 12 months. We play New Years Eve so needs to be someone who's up for that. Interested? Please DM...
  2. And sold out again. Puts wallet back in pocket…
  3. Is the Anagram a better option than a used Quad Cortex which is perhaps 2 to 300 quid more?
  4. What’s the word on the street as to when some more stock will hit the shelves? Feeling very left out ATM!
  5. It's a GR Bass One 800 but no EQ section - simplicity itself. Perfect for anyone wishing to amplify a modeller/preamp/profiler etc. or you can just plug your bass straight in. Capable of being very very loud and has an excellent DI. Amp is in tip top condition and weighs < 5lbs. https://www.grbass.com/portfolio/pureamp/
  6. Following this with interest - currently using a Kemper Stage and this looks easier to change on the fly in a combat situation...
  7. I'm sure most people know all about these but if not... It's a 200 W at 4 ohms / 130 W at 8 ohms pocket amp in VGC, lightly used having served as a backup and for the odd rehearsal. Fits in your gig bag and whilst great for insurance, it's actually a really great little amp with power that belies it's diminutive size. Many appreciative mentions on this site. Price includes postage.

  8. Here's that hoary old classic Floyd number recorded at a Nottingham pub that hosted live music and has now closed its doors for the last time. A recurring tale. Recorded on a Soundcraft UI24R mixer.

  9. Due to my ever-increasing workload I've recently left the Brainshakers, a fine example of that over-worked term 'classic rock covers band' based in Belper, Derbyshire so they're looking for a new bass player (and a drummer if you know one). I can absolutely vouch for them being a lovely and friendly bunch of fellers but I'm off pursuing music closer to my own tastes. I've put a list of some of the artists they currently cover which should give you a flavour of the material they play. The band has been around for a couple of years, has been playing quite a few gigs at decent venues in the local area, is always well-received and has a healthy social media presence. If you're local and fancy a bit of fun, drop me a line and I'll pass it on. Foo Fighters, Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top, Ugly Kid Joe, Ramones, Free, Dr Feelgood, Aerosmith, Green Day, Pearl Jam... etc.
  10. Thanks! I know keyboard player Loz put a lot of work into that song and his reward was to be almost completely hidden in the video. The clever bit was taking the timing from the drums to sync up the vocoder section - how they did it I have no idea. Our set is a right old mix of pop, rock, Motown and disco - so something to annoy everyone I like to think, Pink Floyd through to Donna Summer. There's a bunch of examples here https://www.facebook.com/TheFranchiseBand/videos
  11. Recorded using the Soundcraft UI24R mixer last Saturday. Mixed in Logic and then clumsily aligned against the video off a Zoom q2n in iMovie.
  12. Now £525 Excellent condition, no visible marks and just over a year old. Selling as have moved to Kemper and IEMs. Small and lightweight but fearsomely loud if necessary. Distortion effect is great but it has a really nice clean tone. Price includes P&P 500 watts at 4ohms 250 watts at 8 ohms 2.4Kg

  13. I play in two bands; the first plays everything straight into the PA, all use IEMs and I 'm using a Kemper Stage with a few suitable profiles. The second is a traditional classic rock outfit with amps, cabs, noisy drummer and mostly vocals through the PA. Here I use a Darkglass Alpha Omega 500 with a couple of DG112 cabs. I've been wondering about using the Kemper Stage with the DG cabs and getting a suitable power amp, ditching the Alpha Omega (I realise that I could theoretically use the return on it but I'd rather not as I may sell all the DG stuff and get a nice Barefaced cab instead. Has anyone used a power amp with a Kemper (or I guess a Helix or similar) and was it successful? If so which make/model? Advice/experience/opinions all gratefully received!
  14. Of course you can't capture with this (although there is some crazy talk of it becoming a paid chargeable upgrade at a later date) but you can download profiles which include drive/distortion pedals. There are a load of the B7K for example. The device itself has some effects as well which will see many people OK for octave, chorus, fuzz etc. This may help
