1. Time to move this nice Gecko... The price is now GBP 590 including gigbag, but you pay shipping...
2. Price lowered to GBP 680 and includes the gig bag...
3. Denmark... So we are both inside the EU meaning no taxes or import duties... (And now I have updated my signature so it shows my location)
4. Thanks guys... Yes it's a cool bass, but I have to agree with you Alan: One string too many (for me). This neck is awesome though..! It's the best neck I have experienced on any bass. It's super smooth and the way it's thin on the treble side and a bit more round on the bass side really works. I wish I could get used to playing a 5'er... Regarding the pick guard it's true that it's unusual for a Gecko, but I really dig it. That guard, and the custom neck was the reasons why I bought this particular Gecko from the US and went through all the troubles and expenses with import taxes etc etc getting it into the EU. Here is another picture that perhaps shows the pick guard a little better (also added to the first post). I really like the ''Gecko meets Musicman'' look that goes so well with the MM pick up in this beast.
5. A few more pics, one of them of the control layout...
6. Here are some close up pics of a few ''features'' of this neck. The neck was delivered to me from Warmoth with these features so it's normal, but I just want to show you what you are about to buy... On the back there are some small areas with different figuring / colors. I'm pointing to this area in two of the pics. And the other feature is a tiny tear out on the back, at the bass side. It's tiny and hard to catch with the camera.
7. 1134g as pictured - including the string retainer... With hipshot ultralite tuners it's perfectly balanced. The weight is slightly higher than a maple neck, but the weight is distributed on the lenght of the neck so it's not an issue.
8. Price lowered to GBP 680 Price lowered to GBP 590 I have decided to stick with 4 string basses, so I'm offering my ultra cool Warmoth Gecko for sale. This one has the medium Gecko neck - see more on this here at the Warmoth website: http://www.warmoth.c...eckoMedium.aspx The neck is amazing and is a one off custom neck from Warmoth with a different lamination than the standard necks. This one is wenge, bloodwood and maple. It's a raw neck (no finish) and a dream to play. The fretboard is black ebony. The body is swamp ash with sunset orange transparent finish. The orange matches the wenge neck beautifully. To my knowledge this is the only Gecko out there with a pick guard, and under the guard is a large routing so you can add / change pick ups without having to route the body, all that will be needed is a new pick guard... clever thinking by the original buyer (not me ;-)) The pick up is the Nordstrand MM 5.2 and the preamp is Bartolini NS2TBM18. Hipshot bridge and Hipshot ultralite tuners... The bass is low weight (4,1kg's) and in excellent condition. It comes with the generic gig bag shown and I can pack it for safe shipping.
9. Thanks... YES, it's a very, very nice bass neck... Here is another picture taken in the shade to give some different views on the thing... (the above of the neck are taken in the sun). Let me know if more pics are needed...
10. I'm selling this beautiful -and very rare- quatersawn pau ferro Jazz neck, the neck also has a pau ferro fretboard as you can tell from the pics. The neck is the very high build quality we are used to from Warmoth, and the neck has internal stiffening rods as all Warmoth necks. It has stainless steel frets and a white corian nut. These necks are quite rare from Warmoth, but a dream to play. It's a raw neck (no finish) and is super smooth and nice to play. Condition is almost like new. I have upgraded to another Warmoth neck that fit's my bass better, so this is for sale. The neck is drilled for Hipshot ultralites, so there is just one small hole for each tuner. I can pack it for safe shipping and I will be happy to ship. The price does not include shipping or pay pal fee.
