1. hi there i have a jackson spectra js3. the push-pull pot only works in the raised position. Can anyone know where i can get a wiring schematic for it...tried everywhere.
 2. Hi Twigman...see your point but S prefix indicates 70's...that said the modular nature of Fender production may have resulted in a 78 manufactured neck being assembled and sold in 1980? But the 80's date would relate to the electrics only?
 3. The pots are deffo Jap...but someone told be the circular rout is only done on MIJ, CIJ AND MIM and not on USA models
 4. Hi all, Right, I am now doubting the authenticity of my Fender P bass which I bought in the 90's.The neck is numbered S898513 on the front of the headstock (just under the word Fender) It says made in USA. Now the body...it has a small sticker in the pocket with the same number. In the pot bay there is a sticker with a different number 11.11.80. Also there are two strange routs.... just below the pocket is a circular rout about he size of a 2 pence peace...... Its central and about an inch and a half below where the truss rod part of the neck will rest. Also there is a rout of about 3 inches stretching from the pot bay towards the lower horn of the body. Thankfully the scratchplate cover both. It is obviously trying to appear as a 1978 Fullerton bass but I think its a Frankenbass. Anybody got any suggestions.
 5.
I have a Shuttle 6.0 which states in the spec 370 to 8ohms and 600 to 4ohms....i plugged 2x 8ohm cabs in and it blew one (sp212 600 watt rms and an Ampeg 200watt rms.....the latter one blew)
Both were plugged into the back of the head so should only have created 4ohms which the amp is designed to power
 6.
What GB head do you have and what cabs are you using? If they're definitely 8ohm cabs it wont be an impedance mismatch.... 7.
Thats what im trying to establish....the difference to running them in parallel / series whats the diffence....I thought two 8 ohm cabs produced a 4 ohm load
I need to know definitively because i plugged two 8ohm speakers in the back of the head and one blew
 8.
If they're daisy chained in parallel (which I believe most cabs are) the load presented daisy chaining will be the same as that plugging into the amp. No difference. If daisy chained and they're series, the the load would double - i.e. two 8 ohm cabs would present a 16 ohm load. This would result in circa half the power your amp puts out at 8 ohms. 9. My GB head can operate at 4 or 8ohms depending on what speakers you run it with i.e 8ohm with an 8 ohm speaker or 4ohm with two 8ohm speakers. Can anybody tell me the difference between plugging both speakersdirectly into the two speakon speaker connectors on the back of the head as opposed to plugging one into the back of the head and daisy chaining it to a second speaker.
 10. Funny you should raise this....I always used Rotosound. When I bought an Overwater bass i stuck with the strings they were delivered with and they were superb. when the time came to change them I instinctively bought Rotosound Swing strings and off to the gig I went. Same thing I am a finger player and the strings were sticking on my fingers as though the winding wasn't smoothed down. I think their manufacturing technique and or their quality control has dropped. I have now bought Picato strings which are made in the UK...apparently they make custom guages for Overwater.
 11.
I'm currently using an active Overwater bass with 2 band EQ through my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 running the amp at 8ohms through an Orange SP212 Isobaric cab. The GB is constantly clipping even with the master vol at 12 o'clock (i.e half its potential volume) Whilst the clip light isn't constant, the signal is obviously 'too hot' for the amp. It's making me nervous and i've tried turning the pre-amp gain and volume on the amp down but the wattage plummets. I've also tried 'twiddling pots' on the bass and still the constant red lighting. Anybody got suggestions to remedy the problem and whilst i'm at it can anybody define the pot funcions on the Overwater Perception as it was delivered without a user manual. I understand that i'm using a guitar pre-amp through an amp function pre-amp but the clip light activates at relatively low volumes and I'm worried somethings gonna go pop.
bye the way I also daisy chained another 8 ohm cab to run the amp at 4 ohms and it blew the speaker

 13. The ultimate in 'light' would be a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 through a Barefaced cab...not cheap but 'silly' light with a big sound

 15.
So in summary i appear to have a 1978 Fender (post CBS) Ash bodied bass with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard...I also have the chrome bridge and pick up covers. Anybody know what I could hope to get for this should I wish to sell it?
....not forgetting the skunk stripe!
