  5. Saw them in Glasgow a few weeks ago - unbelievable - best thing was it was a TINY venue by mistake standards at the kelvingrove bandstand which meant unlike some of these monster new venues like the hydro, no matter where you were stood or sat you were right in front of them, loved it. Glasto looked amazing as a totally different atmosphere I only started playing bass at 28 on a whim and I soon realised all the music I already loved was either by him, produced by him or influenced by him, was a big deal for me to see him live!
  6. Seeing chic in Glasgow this summer, can't wait, one of my absolute heroes
  7. It's a USA standard I play and I had a mexican one before that - always found them very quiet, had equivalent p basses which were louder by comparison but otherwise it's been active basses like stingrays which are obviously gonna be louder - I reply only to say I agree with you, it's kind of annoying I feel like I'm pushing my amp more with this bass even though it's probably not the case!
  8. I know, if I reported this the police wouldn't even look at it, but its a low move for sure
  9. no not on here, only sterling folk I've dealt with here, I'd put the ad on gumtree and it followed from there, shocking though that folk pull these stunts! I went to my paypal...obviously.. and no mention, first time ive had any bother buying or selling
  10. was trying to sell someone a bass and got a reply from a guy abroad, I've sold to a guy in Norway before so no red flag from that but then I get an email saying the money's been sent, you'll have a confirmation from paypal but it may go to your spam (I never have real paypal stuff going to spam) and it's 'ive added £300 for shipping, you need to pay that first from your own pocket via western union then scan the receipt then paypal will activate the full amount to you' So all I need to do is pay £300 quid upfront then my money will be 'released' - nice one i'll get right on that. I don't even want to open the email in spam in case it does something
  11. There are quite a few places with limiters around Glasgow/edinburgh where I play in a wedding band and some are more harsh than others - one last night was absolutely fine, barely bumped the yellow, and we were pretty loud, think they said it was set at 110db, had one in Edinburgh though which we tripped twice and like some folk have said, its not ideal for the gear to have power cut in that way.
