1. Cant help you directly with that song But I tend to listen / watch some bass covers / lessons on youtube and see how they do it See how it sounds when they play it
2. Really enjoyed Metallica, not my type of music by any stretch of the imagination, but when compared to the majority of the others there is a reason they are still going 30+ years later I am just getting old I think, "you cant call that noise music" and all that Would love to go, but CBA with actually going. If that makes sense
3. http://www.rguitars.co.uk/collections/electric/products/g110bks#.UnfGn6ypKvc Cort? Bought my first electric off Richard. Unbeatable customer service IMO Only reason I didnt buy a second was because I got given a bass to play with. :-)
4. Hello I have a hand me down Marshal B25 MK2 Practise Amp Switches on okay, but when playing the sound fades to nothing before coming back again and keeps repeating the cycle of slowly fade out and coming back again Questions being: 1. Is it worth fixing it? From what I can see the last one sold on ebay for ~£30 so I assume a paid for fix would be pointless, but if it is something easy? 2. Due to the low value I assume it isnt really worth putting it up for sale as needing repair I know the likely answer is "bin it", but I hate binning stuff. Suppose I am just double checking that it isnt a super easy fix, or even if someone on here who can fix it wants it as a spare or whatever. Thanks
5. Not technically bass, but first I learnt was White Stripes - Seven Nation Army Does that even count? :-) First proper one was prob Arctic Monkeys - Bet you look good on the dancefloor
6. Been having lessons with Steve for what will be approaching a year I think, how time flies. He is flexible and lessons are relaxed and enjoyable with a true feeling of progress after each and every one. He allows you to progress at your own speed and in keeping with what time you have at home to practise. Lessons are kept interesting with new material introduced regularly, but you never feel like you are falling behind or struggling to keep up. Theory is drip fed in as and when it helps or as a tie in sort of comment explaining how and why it works and how it all related. I travel in from Blackpool for a weekly lesson, so he must be doing something right. Free bump as well. Back to the top
7. Yeah, Frets is okay, friendly staff who will let you have a play around if you ask There is also Rimmers Music as well, but just checked and that is a Northwest(ish) chain
8. I have always used http://www.guitars.co.uk/forum/ That one They seem friendly enough, but I havent tried to sell / exchange anything through it
9. Once a week for me at the moment. Going to my 6th lesson I think tonight. As in think it is my 6th, I am definitely going. :-) Definitely glad that I started them, it is a fair distance to travel at an hour each way or there abouts, but whilst I am making progress I feel that it is money well spent. Plus on days like this it is an excuse to get the bike out. :-)
10. AFAIK It was an hour set originally, BBC Three did the 30 mins highlights I would think there would be some poor mobile footage of the full thing on youtube by now though
11. It is a shame that these sort of incidents seem to be the exception rather than the rule. Not specifically to Fender, just in general. A new neck to Fender is a drop in the ocean and a bit of paperwork. To you it could have potentially been a lean month.
Good stuff! Customer service certainly seems to be getting better most everywhere in recent years
Copies are getting better. Competition is getting tougher. If someone pays a higher price for your product due to the name and the manufacturing qualities they dont come back for a second or third purchase if it doesnt live up to expectation when the time comes to upgrade.

13. So annoying reading this thread at work on dinner where YouTube is blocked, so just blank posts with "This is good" on them. Some good ones listed so far. Cant beat a good cover version of a song.
14. Hello I am looking for a bass tutor in the North West sort of area. Live near Blackpool (Cleveleys), but willing to travel an hour or so. My primary form of transport is a motorbike, although I can borrow a car access to one regularly could be problematic, so use of a bass at lesson would be ideal and allow for much more regular lessons. Beginner level. Thanks in Advance for any recommendations or pointers
15.
I forgot F#!!!!! My apologies. G is the 5th fret on the D string! When I've finished this small collection of vids, I'll PM the link to you. Should help a lot
Thanks, look forwards to it Glad i was correct, had horrible visions then of there not being certain notes available on certain strings for whatever reason.
