Hi all, This may be a stupid question but I'm a complete Recording Virgin so excuse me if I sicken you.... I got a voucher for christmas , it burnt a hole in my pocket for a week , and went out and bought one of these lads. I play a few bit and bobs and I have in my head that I have a lot of songs that I would like to record. I did do research to a degree before I bought this but due to the fact I have very little knowledge of music production and recording I'm confused about something and maybe someone can put me straight.. When I was younger I remember watching a friend record on a Tascam 8 Track. The room was quite "smokey" at the time so my memory is a little fuzzy. I remember him laying down a guitar track and then coming along a working out a bass line over it with the ability to rewind and practice it before finally recording the one he was happy with. My question is , is this something that my unit should be able to do, without connecting to a computer? I have an Ipod but cannot seem to figure if this can be done with this unit. Please forgive if it is a absolutely stupid question, but if it is can you let me know, i.e Tell me I'm thick... and I'll try research some more. I do have an old tape deck from a seperates system, is this something I can add to the equation. Just googled this show and if it's not about Warwick it'll be about PRS guitars.

Lords and Ladies.. I know that this was discussed in another thread but cannot find it so here goes. On Sun MORNING at 5:00AM, the "How it's Made" programme features guitars. Someone mentioned before that they watched this programme before and it was from the Warwick factory. I may be wrong on sundays programme may be about those thinny six string feckers so I just wanted to make you aware of it, incase it is the Warwick Factory. Station is SKY Discovery Science (channel 535 ) The programme is again on at 6:00AM (stress the AM) but this time it's about guitar strings so should be interesting either way. Get up there and get you SKY+ boxes on starters orders to records them.

The ones that I have seen had a Jim Diamond look-alike with a 4 and 5 string musicman and a rock chic with a sexy voice and curves in a the correct places and proportions....

The Bass lessons on Rockworld TV were on in January, to be honest they wer'nt the best as it had some rock chick with him that constantly interrupted him when he was doing his demo everytime he went over 20bpm to ask him to slow down. She was asking him about what the knobs on the bass do. Bit of a head wrecker. I have 5 of them recorded on my sky box and there was nothing to do with slapping in particular just intro , chords, scales etc. all quite basic mind you.

Old Git my fellow SX lover, I have seen you make a reference to using 800 grit rubdown treatment, resisting the oppurtunity to make lewd comment about the whole rubdown business, can you tell me what's involved here. I'm am the very proud owner of a SX SJB LTD2 which is truly special but the gloss on the neck can get a bit lacklustre and thus sticky, cheers for that and keep pluggin' those special ones. I'll look after the Irish branch of the European SX Appreciation Society!

I've played the SX Natural Jazz in a shop in Dublin last month , lovely little fella but suffering seriously from some weight issues. I'm talking noticably heavier than most. Bought a sexy SX LTD2 instead, not cheap but Ireland is expensive for everything at the moment.
