1. bump - happy to meet in Central somewhere. for £190 ill throw in a softcase.
2. bump - some interest but still preferring not to post!
3. Evening all, I'm looking for £190 for a very underused but loved fretless vintage modified squier jazz. It's been well kept and is in excellent condition. The project it was bought for never really got off the ground and similarly im not much of a fretless player. The available tones are fantastically variable and the seymour duncan pickups do a nice job. The bass itself is stock. There are no chips in the lacquer but there are a few scratches, the worst is pictured. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves... pickup would be from London SE1. I hate the thought of posting my basses.
4.
What would TCV have turned out like with McCartney on bass ????
5. I have a pjb briefcase and have never experienced any whistling noise whatsoever. I'm not sure if the power amps are substantially different but mine's always been very quiet. It sounds suspect to me - especially coming from a manufacturer who also designs high end hifi. I'd contact PJB direct by email to confirm the info you've been told.
6. I don't do it most of the time, but if there's a fast or especially lyrical bit i'm trying to imitate i find it helps me with timing. It really helped me recently trying to get the groove for fat larry's band - act just like you know.

8.
a kind of related tanget, heres a wee vid about diy cymatics, 'visible sound'. making dancing shapes by pouring corn starch on your favourite speaker cones. make online visible sound
haha, that's amazing. It looks like claymation. If i were a scientist that would be called The Trap Door Effect!
9. i guess it does seem a bit unreal. I assumed it might be a frame/refresh rate thing. Similar to when you see alloy wheels on an accelerating car reverse direction. Your eyes can only see things so fast so you see a strobe effect.
10. I thought i'd share some great footage of the movement of bass strings taken with a high speed camera. It's on vimeo so i'm not sure i can embed it: http://vimeo.com/4041788
11. mmm, i have an early 70's carlsbro 60tc and i love it to bits. it's sad at the moment because it needs a service but it sounds gorgeous cranked up. good luck with the sale.
