Total Watts

1. It's always going to be a minimum of 2 trips otherwise you'd forget your guitar. My routine on arriving at venue is, trip 1 with cab of choice or both (15" and/or 410), trip 2 for my guitar with the Orange head over my shoulder in the man/handbag. As for volume, I have ashdown cabs and with either it is amazing ( trouser shaking, chest thumping), very deep and rich but plenty of high if that's your thing on the eq; with both cabs it would cope with a stadium. Top gigging tip: when packing up always leave the big cab unsupervised and lock the guitar and head up in car first, unless of course you are hanging around post gig, in which case keep them with you as they are very "walk off-able"
2. Pancake Day bump. They're still here and I still fancy an Orange or 2.
3. Monday bump, these cabs are both 8ohm and are the current models.
4. Forgot to mention that I would be willing to do a swap or trade for an Orange cab.
5. Like it says, 2 very lightly used 8Ohm cabs, willing to split to fund purchase of an orange 15 cab to go with my orange head. Newer Tolex covered mag models, not seen much use due to band break after just 3 gigs and rehearsal rooms having cabs, rarely used at home due to moany wife (probably about twice). A couple of little transport marks but nothing that would show in a pic. Location is Aberdare, South Wales, 30 mins from M4 Cardiff/Swansea, or via A465 Abergyfenny. Open to offers for quick sale. Realistically looking for £270ish total. Cash on pick up preferred.
6. Want this so much to go with my Bass Terror but I'd have to get sell my ashdown 15 or 410 first. I'll keep checking back, Christmas and a foreign holiday have eaten up my cash stash.
7. Look at this on eBay: Indie IRK4 Bass Guitar in Fireglow 4 string http://bit.ly/SUneVa
8.
I once turned my old 70s Rick 4001 from plain black to black & white stripes, but I did it with a low tack self adhesive tape so the process was completely reversible (Don't have any photo's unfortunately). Personally I'd think twice about doing anything that would require a lot of work and/or expense to change if & when you got bored with it or decided to sell the bass.
Ditto the above but be careful, I used scissors and black insulating tape to turn my all white Fender Jazz Bass USA American Traditional into a zebra ( i must have been mad, but it suited our band , it looked very cool and was unique round my way) but.......... when I removed them, the guitar had yellowed and you could see where the stripes used to be. They were only on from 2001 to 2005 and I can still see where they were now! Before 2001 Zebra Style 2001-2005 Current Classic Style
9.
I'd love a Gibson grabber or one of them Ibanez artists or whatever Kris Novoselic used but he managed to kill most of them!
Reminded me of this http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/nirvanas-novoselic-relives-failed-1992-vma-bass-toss-20081120 http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DvLZbbgVw7Jg&v=vLZbbgVw7Jg&gl=GB
10.
300W minimum in my humble opinion. Headroom is necessary.
Ditto this. I started out with a little bedroom amp as a kid then spent out on a trace Elliot gp7 150watt to battle my first drummer and guitarist. It lasted until I came home from our first pub gig. If you can rely on really good pa support that's great, If not then 300watts and a single cab (15 or 4x10) is what you need to get you started.
11. I'd get it, if it suits you great. If not, the Little giant is worth £100 just as a back up to whatever else.
12.
I think they're just a bit big
I think you're right, I scaled each block by subtracting one cm from gap between frets, to save repeating the whole job I think I'll just redo the first fret, that seems the most "wrong".
13. Not much noticable difference between 4 or 8 ohm volume wise i've found. All you'll do by buying a 4 is restrict yourself to only ever having one cab. By buying an 8 you could always get another cab when funds and/or loud drummer/guitarists dictate.
14. My cheapo DIY solution to this whilst touring back in the day, was to fashion 2 big plastic washers from 2 pop bottle lids. Cost was nil and they still work now, they've been on my Jazz since 2000. I guess you could even chose your colour Coke, lemonade, lilt etc.
