1. So...I've not had much luck with bass cabs lately. Bought a couple second hand that turned out to be trashed and uneconomical to repair. I would love to buy something new and reliable but cant afford it. I have some experience of making things so I find myself here. I am curious about just how much volume you can get out of a pair of these. I'm hoping to at the very least upset the guitarist, I do like to have the option of being overbearingly loud. And how they stand up in comparison to the basschat 1x12 (12" cab diary cont.) with the same Beyma 12cmv2. Is it worth all the hassle of the bracing and cost of the crossover and compression driver. I mean, I'm confident I could do it if pushed but I'm not sure its worth doubling the cost/time of the build.
2. Have I priced this wrong? Does nobody like Warwicks anymore? Is everybody too far away? Come on guys someone give me a clue...
3. Trades for other 4 string basses welcome. Price negotiable, This thing was my prized possession for several years. Anyone that's been playing a while probably knows more than I can remember about this thing. So here are the specs From the warwick serial number checker website Serial number: E-084257-01 Article number: 1334120100CPCARO1W produced: 31.05.2001 Description: Streamer Standard, 4-string Burgundy Red Oil finish Carolena body Ovangkol neck Chrome hardware Made in Germany the bass has some wear, please see the photos and feel free to request more if interested! It's a lovely thing to play. The neck is a great shape and absolutely solid with the warwick volute, and anyone who remembers this bass will know it has a slightly more "vintage" sound than some Warwicks. Recently had the jack socket replaced and a quick setup. It's even had a new set of strings.
4. was gonna say just flip the tracks over in a regular log pot but for a tenner its hardly worth it
5. i was just wondering if all the wires are coming from the same pickup?
6. sounds like when your flipping the pickup the polepieces arent grounded anymore.
7. the wire around the coloured wires is likely to be sheilding....generally that just get soldered to a ground point That sounds like a dual coil pickup? is it coming from some kind of humbucker? have you got some photos might be able to help out a bit more if I can see what were working with. TF
8. is it a pre shaped nut that is just too tall?
9. as far as i know they're relatively unique. will probably have to get one from Ashdown...they will probably tell you how to change it too!
10. your putting the lighting rig into the PA? Sometimes you get a pop from guitar pedals when you hit the switch and you get a change in voltage you use a big old resistor on the input and output caps to ground. Not exactly sure what is going on in your pedal though TF
11. I looked around for a respray around here (lancashire) and most quotes where £250-300 allthough some wanted me to do the paint stripping myself. This was a couple of years ago tho...and i never went through with it.
12. Hamfist. where does the ground connection of the pickup go?
13. thats interesting. i was originally contemplating building my own preamp but couldnt figure out how to combine two pickups into a single audio signal....im guessing i would use a dual gang pot with the wiring reversed on one gang as a blend knob so as one turns up the other goes down.
14. Hey all hoping someone could enlighten me a little in the world of onboard preamps. So I have this active deluxe jazz bass and i just dont like the preamp very much and was thinking of swapping it out. Can someone either confirm or correct the following Pickups themselves can be specifically for "active" circuits and must have a preamp and power supply to work ALSO There are preamps that are designed to work with passive or active pickups FINALLY if I use something similar to http://www.thomann.de/gb/seymour_duncan_sstc3psb.htm with the stock pickups is it going to work? The bass --> Cheers TF
