I need a high level bass player to initially record an album I've written. This has some fairly complex material with lots of different time signatures and harmonic progressions, other tracks are simpler but must groove no matter how complex. I would imagine the right player will be experienced playing jazz/ improvised music (developed jazz harmony) There isn't a massive budget as I'm funding it myself but we'll try to work out a deal. Ideally it would become a gigging outfit with the right player as a member, I really want to put together the most ass kicking band out there. London based.

With the right line up we want to be playing as much as possible, maybe backing different soloists/vocalists etc, we're also going to approach places to be the house band. We rehearse twice weekly at the moment but it's obviously not like running over the same songs every time, more about developing a synergy and enjoying developing and being creative

Yeah some charts for the original tunes with important parts scored out, for any covers I'm sure there are charts in the real book etc, we also like a free approach - improvising and seeing where it goes, it could be anything from odd time sigs to funk, swing, latin whatever...and sometimes yes just shouting a key...just enjoying making music. Excellent bassist required for jazz fusion project. The bass player will complete the 'core' group of keys drums bass, and we will work with various guitar sax vocalists etc. Must have great sense of groove, developed jazz harmony, comfortable playing in odd times, basically able to go anywhere stylistically, we play some standard tunes but also developing originals with a strong emphasis on improvisation.
