it tends to be the cheaper basses that have the sticky neck.. although I picked up a MIM precision in PMT and that wasn't too silky

I don't know about the other guys but I used a combo for quite a while as the venues we were playing in those days were the size of shoe boxes. I personally think if you are in a position to buy a nice amp and cab and you are certain that bass is for you... why not?? have fun with it! One bit of advice would be to get one with a headphone socket (for those late night practice sessions) and preferably an Aux in for playing along with the songs your learning

Well on Thursday I finally received my order from PMT... the bass and the amp are awesome I'm very impressed with the quality of both items but the service has left a very bad taste in my mouth and kind of ruined the whole buying experience if I'm honest. To be fair the assistant manager did manage to cough out what I thought was the start of an apology, but I'm afraid its little too late I will not be returning. Oh and yeah... the bass I ordered was a maple fretboard... erm well it kinda showed up in rosewood instead... I'm not bothered because I like Rosewood... but i think that says it all and should let anyone know whose thinking of buying from them the kind of people and service your likely to encounter

well update on my situation... i still don't have my bass. i'm really starting to lose my patience now... if it doesn't come today I am demanding a refund ...
