1. Hi Guys, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a piece of gear existing or even if my idea is a good/workable one? Rock/Metal and make use of a fair amount of fuzz/distortion's Wah's etc, Most of the time I don't have an issue and the various sound guy's can handle things just by taking a DI out of my amp (Darkglass M900) and I Guess via EQ/Compression/LPF Can compensate for the lack of a speaker cabinet filtering the high end from my signal. This, however, has not always been the case and I have recently had a couple of bad experiences admittedly with less seasoned sound guys where they havent been able to cope, Is there a product I can plug my DI output into that will emulate a mic'd cabinet? my current set up is bass>line 6 g55>tuner>EHX pitchfork>EHXBIgMuff>Chorus>EBS Wah>Darkglass M900 (i also make use of the built-in distortions)>DI I'm Aware of things like the Two notes C.A.B but from the research I've done it seems they're designed to run straight from pedals and not from an amp DI? I guess I'm looking for a box with XLR in & out that adds some sort of impulse response to the signal?
2. Hi I've been drooling over the mesa bass strategy 8:88 for what seems like years but I cannot find anyone in the UK stocking them. Can anyone help I'd love to get one but there is no way I'm buying blind at that sort of price?
3. For sale is my GK Fusion 550 I've owned it for around 3 years and it has served me well, it has done over 500 gigs in this time and gets serviced every 6 months by phil at pacific light and sound never had an issue with it. from the day of purchase it has been housed in my 4u sleeved rack selling as I've Just picked up a tc Blacksmith £550 Trade offers considered I'm currently looking for a small class d Amp something like the tc RH750 / or a genz benz shuttle.
4. Well after a lot of digging about i have finally got my new rig 2xbergantino HD210's, and the tc Blacksmith I picked it up monday and after the first 4 gigs i have to say im blown away with it.
5. thanks for the response guys im afraid a single 6x10 will be a bit much in 1 cab as i would like to be able to throw it in the car (focus estate) as i do with this one from time to time, id rather go with multiple smaller cabs as such I've been looking at the tc electronic blacksmith with 3x 2x12 cabs as an idea but im struggling to find anyone in the midlands with the cabs in stock so i can have a listen, I have however had a play with a pair of bergantino hd210 cabs with the genz benz shuttlemax 9.2 and i was quite pleased with the overall clarity of the rig but it seemed to lack that low end push I was hoping for.
6. Well I've been trying to deny it for a while but my old trace elliott cabs are dying and just cant hack it anymore after 15+ years of faithful service i think they've done well my current set up is a gallien krueger fusion 550 running 2x trace elliott 4x10 cabs. primarily im looking to replace the cabs but im up for dropping the lot at this stage. weight is an issue im looking not to go any heavier than the 410's i have now (around 50kg each) I have been looking with some interest at this new Class D stuff i have a orange TB500 and SP212 Which i use for small gigs but I'm unconvinced that it will ever work for my larger rig anyone have much experience with them the majority of our gigs are venues 1000+ capacity where everything goes trough the FOH so a good DI would be a benifit however we do also play the odd club/bar where the amp needs to be able to power through the band, the bands i play with range from sleaze rock to metal i was looking at multiple 12"s to help re enforce the low end figuring they will dig deeper than 10's but im not sure how well it will cut through the mix any suggestions of stuff to look at?
