  1. well as you know its the same with every bass, its how you play it too. If you wanted a Squire/Lee sound from a Ricky you need to play it quite hard and you'll need the right amp.
  2. get a Epiphone Vintage Thunderbird Pro. its gorgeous and plays brilliantly. no neck dive, get a wide strap though. extremely narrow neck makes it very easy and quick play.
  3. I have a 'Fenderbird' bass that a friend of mine built for me 30 odd years ago. It's in need of some tlc. Can anyone recommend a good luthier around the Somerset/Devon/Dorset border area? Would really love to have this in playable condition again. Thanks. Robert
  4. I love my 78 Ricky 4001 too. Don't understand why some people find them hard to play, that neck fits my hand perfectly. Never could get on with fender necks.
  5. Hmmm that doesn't sound very fair Mr Hall. Are you listening Hall!!!
  6. How come we can't sell our Rickys on here, but can on other sites like Talkbass?
