  1. Around 2017 I started singing properly; I put loads of work into technique and growing my confidence and I thought 'I can't believe I've missed out all these years'. Then COVID turned my mild asthma into COPD, and there are about 3 times EVERY day where I question whether my medicine will kick in before I pass out from suffocation. Every time I try to sing, I get about 30 seconds in and then my chest seizes up. I hate it.
  2. This is one of Mahalo’s higher-quality Ukuleles, with a mahogany body and hard case. When I first got it the tuning was all over the place, but I had a luthier loot at the bridge and nut and now it is much better. It’s still an entry-level uke, but the hardcase and mahogany body make for a better investment. I live in Kendal in the Lake District and my daughter lives in Bolton so I’m regularly around these locations and I’m happy to meet someone around these areas; I’ll drive a reasonable distance if it means saving us both the hassle of shipping the items. If you’d rather have the item shipped then I would ask that the buyer arranges this. I can drop off at a suitable collection point, and I work from home if the item is to be collected. In such a case, I will ensure that the item is properly packaged with polystyrene or bubblewrap and I’ll make a trip to Curry’s to get suitable box or to assemble one if the item is too large. I’ll have quite a few items up for sale over the next few weeks and I’ll also be advertising them on other sources, so please let me know if you’re interested and I can ensure that other adverts are taken down as I don’t want to disappoint anyone.
  3. I've had some interest in this item but no sale yet. I note that my price is really low so I guess I need to think about eBay soon
  4. I like the song but wow that's some Cher-level autotuning on the lead vocal.
  5. Thanks, man! Yeah I'm surprised it hasn't gone yet but I've already dropped the price a bit. I bought it for £420 not that long ago so I don't want to go any lower than £400 ideally. I'm happy to wait - perhaps I'll restring it as I recently intended....
  6. Hi all, I bought a Roland kit a few years ago and these came as spares. I've never put them on the kit and the guy I bought them from said the same (although there are a couple of faint marks on one that could be stick marks). There are 4 Roland PD8 pads in like-new condition. I'm after £5 each for these or £20 for all 4. They're going for £10 each on eBay but I want the space! Collection from Cumbria or Bolton, or I can easily put all 4 in a box if the buyer wants me to ship. Thanks
  7. Bump - I had a sale but it fell through. I am much more happy to arrange a courier for this item and still accepting offers!
  8. My teacher (Steve Berry) taught me to use single-note drones (sometimes called cello drones) and bow long notes whilst blindfolded to improve intonation. I would play up and down a scale, and really isolate what I wanted to improve, for instance I would focus on single-position shifts and bow the notes of the G major scale against a G drone, then change position and do the same. I spent hours at uni doing this and I found it really meditative. No metronome means no timing pressure, so you focus on the pressure of shifting and fingering correctly. Once you feel confident then introduce a metronome, but now you're focussing on shifting in tune AND in time when you SHOULD have the 'in tune' bit down. I used to practice for around 4 hours a day with long, regular breaks and over the 2 years I did this, my muscle memory improved no end... then I played mostly fretted electric for 15 years and lost 70% of it, but at least I know where I'm wrong whereas I used to listen to recordings and cringe that I didn't realise (when playing) how bad I was. Now I know!
  9. There are a variety of opinions online about this pedal but I bought it because I had a cheap acoustic that had a cheap pickup and preamp, and although it played really well it didn’t sound great. I wanted an equally cheap solution to get rid of the quacky piezo tone, and the preamp in the guitar was really lacking whereas the EQ options in this pedal are quite versatile, particularly the sweepable mid control. It isn’t going to replace a mic in front of the guitar for great tone, but if you have a problematic guitar, this might be a cheap solution to getting a better sound out of it.
