  1. Love the look of these, such a sucker for fiesta red... never had a chance to play a 50s profile neck though, so no idea if it would suit me. GLWTS!
  2. If they did one with a maple neck I'd really be in trouble.
  3. Actually I don't object as much to the headstock in your pic, great that it came with flats already. Is that something they do on all of them?
  4. The v4's a fairly inoffensive headstock, but the revelation is truly atrocious. Almost as bad as current SXes. Which is a shame cos I like the red revelation and theres a nice surf green SX at the mo.
  5. I flew to brazil in 2014 for work and took a bass with me, i took the neck off, wrapped it in bubble wrap and put it inside a big carboard tube i had that fit snugly then wrapped the body in bubble wrap too. screws, strings etc in an envelope. i packed it all together in my suitcase, the neck diagonally across the case and the body right in the middle with all my other stuff tightly packing it all in. Arrived without a scratch, 10 mins popping it back together and restringing it and i was away. i should mention that this was my trusty old SX P Bass so not an heirloom instrument, but it worked really well and i'd do it again it for anything but a really expensive instrument (which i don't own and probably never will).
  6. Sold my fiesta red p-bass to Rich today, nice easy transaction and a good chin-wag about gear too! Thanks Rich!
  7. Sorry, should have said, not looking for trades thanks. Need to get the collection down to 1 each of p and j flavours.
  8. [attachment=217266:P1010066.jpg] For sale is my 2002-04 PB62, I imported it from Japan through Ishibashi in 2014 and subsequently added the tort guard, totally rewired it with a solderless pickup connector and had the pickup made by Mark at Crash Magnetic Transducers. Its the only existing Sweetbass pickup - a more traditional vintage sounding pickup as opposed to his Saltbass modern-sounding version, all made by hand in Nottingham. He's since decided to take a break from the pickup game, I think he had another kid, so this may end up being the only one he ever made. It sounds amazing, I have it set quite far back from the strings to get a real woody traditional P-Bass thump. The bass in really great condition, the only thing thats worth noting is a little bit of a knock on the underside of the fretboard at about the 6th fret, its nothing that's ever bothered me and it's un-noticeable when playing. theres a few very minor little marks by the bottom strap button, again nothing to stress about and as you can see on the serial number photo theres the tiniest chip out of the heel. The colour is a little deeper red on the pictures, think it might have been the lighting, but it's definitely got that sweet 60s-looking slightly orangey red shade that is awesome to look at. I have it set up with a medium action and a set of status (i think) flats. It nails the vintage vibe in both looks and sound. i'm reasonably sure the body is basswood, so it's a nice manageable weight. The neck is lovely, not too chunky and the quality of the woods is superb, truss rod turns smoothly and cleanly and the frets are in excellent condition. Delivery-wise i have no idea what it would cost to ship it from Belper, but if someone was suitably interested i could make enquiries. I'd rather sell in person so the buyer has a chance to give it a once-over and try it out. I'm in west london (ealing) most weeks so could meet up down there potentially. If no-one fancies collection/meeting i do have a mid-range plastic hardcase i could ship it in for an extra £10 for the case and whatever the postage is on top of that. and now the bit you've all been waiting for - pictures!
