  1. Hmmm, it's in Cheltenham. Only half an hour away... NO NO LOOK AWAY NOW.
  2. Interesting headstock splice. Would you be willing to post more pix of that?
  3. I loved my SR500. This a brilliant bargain.
  4. I sometimes use a high stool to sit on because I am lazy and old, but also because I use a looper and pedals. That's my excuse. I have a guitar hanger screwed to the stool so I can use it as a stand when not playing. It looks kinda cool with that. Functional.
  5. I must not look at this bass I must not look at this bass.
  6. My Yamaha BBG4 fretless. So nice to play.
  7. I got my decal paper from eBay. I only needed one sheet. I had painted the bass above using good quality auto rattle cans, and used the same brand clear coat to finish. Homebase, B&Q etc have similar products.
  8. You can buy decal paper online. I have made two-colour logos for a bass, and it is very easy. You will need to sand off the existing logo, and apply a coat of clear to seal in the new logo. It sounds daunting but it is not.
  9. It is not a veneer. It looks like a very thin film layer. On YouTube there is a video by a guy who repaired the cracked photo flame layer on the headstock of a BBG. He removed the aged and cracked film, and replaced it with real veneer. Very clever. There was also one on eBay, in Italy I think, with very obvious age cracking of the film on the lower bout of the body. It is correct that the film does not show the chatoyance of a real veneer, which is a dead giveaway. I think they are beautiful and very playable basses, photo or no.
