  1. Hi, I've just come across this thread. Is the bass still for sale? I'm UK based and not too far from you if it is.
  2. Thanks for that. Yes, I've already visited the Ibanez site. I use D'Addario on all of my basses, but was keen to replicate the exact string. They don't feel like D'Addarios strings. Thanks for you input.
  3. Hi, I have an Ibanez Talman short scale bass (originally bought for my young son). It plays really well and the strings in particular are very nice. I need to replace them and kind find any detail on them. Both Ibanez and the UK distributors have been unhelpful, The strings have a chrome ball end and have black tapered full length windings, They are roundwound strings. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what they might be at all? I've searched to high heaven, but can't find any reference at all to them. Thanks in advance
  4. Gallien Krueger MBE-III 150 bass combo. Excellent condition with very little use. This amplifier has been used for a couple of rehearsals and aside from that has been used at home for practice purposes only. I'm based in the North East.
  5. Hi, yes the string spacing is 19mm. The 35 inch scale isn't hugely different when you're used to it, but there is a little adjustment to be made. When you've played both for a little while, moving back and forth is very easy.
  6. Hi, everything listed come with the instrument, but that doesn't include the original pickup and bridge. Sorry, I'm not in the market for trades.
  7. Many thanks for your advice. Had it not disappeared from my content profile, I wouldn't have re-posted.
  8. Nate Mendel P Bass for sale. It's a great sounding P Bass, but I have '62 P Bass, which I keep reaching for so sadly, this one has to go. I've only used it a couple of time outside of my home, so it's had most of its use in the home studio. It's had a few modifications - The original pickup has been replaced with a Bartolini 8CPB, which is the classic Bartolini P Bass pickup and sounds really fat. The modern badass look-a-like bridge has been replaced by a standard Fender bridge, which I think really suits the classic P Bass look. I have a Rebel Relic lightly aged scratch plate in off white, which I think gives the look of the bass a nice lift (photographs show original scratch plate) and lastly, I've added a tug bar, which finishes of the traditional P Bass look. Currently strung with D'Addario XL170's the bass plays and sound well. It's previously been strung with Thomastik Infeld Jazz strings, which were a little lighter in gauge and it's played and sounded awesome with that set up. The bass comes with the original black factory fitted scratch plate and the Rebel Relic aged plate, Fender gig back and all the bits & pieces that are included in the original sale. The original pickup and bridge aren't included in the sale. The bass is ready to go to the first take so no time wasters please. I'm based in the North East. 9. I'm parting company with my Nate Mendel P Bass. It's a fine instrument that sounds great, but I keep going back to my '62 P Bass, which is unbeatable, so it has to go. It's had a couple of modifications as follows: It has a Bartolini 8CPB, which is a classic Bartolini P bass pickup and it sounds lovely. The new age high mass badass style bridge has been replaced by a standard Fender bridge. I've also added a tug bar, which i think adds to the aesthetic of a P Bass. The sale includes the Fender gig bag and all the bits and pieces that come with the bass from new. It's currently strung with D’Addario XL170 rounds (brand new), but has previously had a set of Thomastik Infeld Jazz strings on it, which were a little lighter in gauge and it played great with them on.

  11. Hi, the bass is @ 4.8kg/10.5lbs. Not the heaviest, but then again not the lightest.
  12. Overwater Custom made 5-string Fretless Bass. 35" scale. With Hiscox moulded case. The bass is loosely based on the Overwater Progress model, but the body is a little more sculpted. The neck is of 3-piece maple and sycamore construction with an Ebony fingerboard (no markings) and and runs through the body, which is is faced in Ash with a Walnut rear. As you might expect from the wood combinations, the sound is very natural - warm and punchy, but has very great definition. It sings just like a fretless should! The front of the headstock is faced in Ebony to match the fingerboard. It's a very handsome instrument, which is further enhanced by the beautiful flame of the Ash body face wood. The bottom B string has a very strong sound, helped by the 35" scale The tuners are black to compliment the Ebony headstock, as is the bridge. The bass features a very simple preamp that offers +/- 15db bass and treble. The controls are volume, pan, bass, treble. It’s in pristine condition and has never left my home/studio. Priced to sell at £1,200 plus shipping. No trades please. I'm based in the North East (UK) I'm selling a matching fretted 5-string too if anyone is interested in grabbing a matching pair.
