I bought various bass guitars and a double bass because as a lefty, good stuff doesn't come up often so.....you know how that goes. I have gigged most of them. At one point I was up to 8 I think. I have now pretty much decided that I'm done with gigging, my last recording project is complete (and I'm due to go for a get together to her the finished product this weekend) which I used three different basses on and I don't think there will be another one any time soon. I'm selling (and have sold four so far) everything except my go-to Hot Rod Precision, my Roland Cube 30, LM3 and Barefaced Compact (just in case....lol). This part of my life is pretty much done: It's been a great 12-15 years but things change, and I'm moving on to other things so my small "collection" is surplus to requirements. BTW I've had no luck selling on here, but everything I've sold has gone for the same if not more on a popular auction site. YMMV.

Big Red is pretty much spot on. There is indeed an up front royalty payment system for small runs of CD's: It's on the PRS website under licences and it's the LM (limited manufacture) licence that I think you need. Should be MCPS only. It's fairly self explanatory. Another thing to consider is that if any of the music is copyright and might get played on the radio (for promotional reasons etc.), you can have tags embedded in the tracks so the radio play royalties get sent to the right place. All the decent replicators/duplicators can do this. Most small radio stations require the tags to be embedded if you want them to play your CD as they don't want to faff about sorting out royalties for what they play.

So......Yet another thread wanders completely off the point and becomes a pointless argument, like two bald men fighting over a comb, and probably causing the OP to lose the will to live trawling through the last two pages trying to find out if there is actually any useful information to be found in them. The short answer is "No". Well done chaps. FWIW, and YMMV, we ran our band (bass, drums, guitar/vox and harmonica)very successfully for many years in pubs and small venues with a pair of passive 12" ElectroVoice, a Yamaha EMX512SC (light as a feather, enough effects for us) and backline. No monitors, and as Happy Jack said we could all hear one another very well at the volumes needed for those types of small spaces. If you can't, you are too loud anyway in my humble opinion. We figured that we were there to entertain, not to pin the punters to the back wall. Set up in 25mins, tear down the same, utterly reliable and easy to transport. And we also used to have the speakers behind us on occasions when space demanded: while we had to be careful about checking frequencies etc. and mic placement we managed it OK on many occasions. That was just us: other folks do it different. .

Does anyone have a transcription of the bass part for "Nick Of Time" by Bonnie Raitt? I've been asked to do it and I'm really struggling with the riff at the intro... I can't find anything in the usual places! The verse part is fine but my ear is not good enough to pick out the intro. Thanks all.

I nearly bought a left handed G&L ASAT bass in blue metallic just because I loved it. However, it had the most horrendous neck dive so I chickened out. I regret that now, as it was really pretty, a reasonable price, played nicely apart from the neck dive issue and I've never seen another one.

From 1956....... personally I love this!
