Is it me or does it look like her F Bass has two "P" style pickups? It sounds great.

Stuart Zender, Nick Beggs, Tony Levin, Paul Turner and Mark King for starters. I also like Linley Marthe, Guy Nsangue, Ettiene Mbappe among other bassists who don't frequent my side of the Atlantic often enough or at all.

Thanks all and your responses put a smile on my face. More about me. I bought my first bass a Pan/Alembic Jazz in 1975 (still have it) when I started lessons. Not too long thereafter I began playing in different R&B/ Funk/ Fusion ensembles up until 2006 when I dropped a lot of the secular work and began playing gospel. Besides my Pan/Alembic Jazz I have a Zolla P/J and a Warmoth Gecko 5wide. I have two rigs, one is an Alembic F2-b into a Carver power amp and I also have an SWR Mo'Bass using two 4x10 cabs.

...not so much a need per se but I like being able to manipulate tonal parameters from my instrument because playing in church I've played as a visitor at other churches and the equipment I played through was different from my own. I enjoy the versatility. Over there on the continent you have ACG and there's also Taurus and Noll as top level onboard preamps. My question is addressed to those who have experienced all three...Noll, Taurus, and ACG. Thanks

I hear you. Most of my use is live in church and some clubbing with an R&B group now and then. The Taurus youtube clips sound great but so do the Noll. I've yet to hear the ACG 01 filter pre so I can't make a comparison.

I like the initial question. I'm looking to buy a pre to replace the OBP-3 I'm using now. I've narrowed my choice to a Noll TCM3-P and the Taurus TM2. What is the consensus here between the Noll, the Taurus and the AGC 01?

I was strung out on Bach but Beethoven was my thang... I just entered into the BassChat dimension and parked my MotherShip. I've been playing for a while, since '75 in R&B and Funk and Fusion groups but the last 8 years in contemporary gospel serving at the church where I fellowship. A few bassists I really admire happen to dwell on your side of the Atlantic so I hope to learn more about them from you guys who have probably seen them multiple times. And I know I'll have a good time with the verbal exchanges. Cheers
