    Soloing

Hopefully this is the right thread. It sounds arrogant but I guess the easiest way to put it is I'm a proficient enough bassist to gig and jam but I still haven't cracked soloing. Occasionally when I get really into the song something good will come from it but in general I have no clue where to start with soloing so any hints and tips would be appreciated.
  2. I'll probably use this for other basses as well just to keep updated but does anyone know what bass it is that's played in the video for get lucky by daft punk I'd assume it's Dan Armstrong or something but id like a second opinion
  3. Okay so my current amps is absolute trash and I have the money to buy a new one and I have three possible options either a fender rumble 410 cab with the rumble 500 head or the fender rumble 500 (the rumble 500 isn't a cab) or I can buy an orange crush cr100bxt amp
  4. What kind of bass would you recommend for someone that wants to play a variety of styles, from ska to heavy metal. I'd mainly play with my fingers but without a lot of slap and a little picking too. The main styles of music I would be playing would be rock, funk, jazz, hard rock, alternative pretty much anything else as long as it has a good bass line. It would also be good if the bass looked at least slightly unique or stood out. *Update I already have a fender j bass and a squier p bass so those are kinda out the question I've messed around with yamaha style active basses and I like their sound and look but I've found that they are a bit fragile
